By now many people are ready to get back to life as normal. Even though many of the restrictions have been lifted, some people are not ready to fully engage with others or return to business as usual. No matter where you fall on the spectrum of comfort in gathering or returning to work, it is happening every day. The push to return to life before covid-19 is in full swing. The government, businesses and churches are all opening in various ways – fully open, hybrid or virtually. Adjusting to the world around you may be something you never thought you would have to face. Many of us were saying we could not wait to get out but now have some anxiety and fear about how that will look going forward.
Be encouraged in this season of transition. We are living through interesting times. It can become overwhelming when you are presented with conflicting facts and must make decisions that are essential to dealing with the changes. Solutions to feeling trapped, overworked or exhausted can be difficult to find when the threat of the virus, unemployment and relationship difficulties come into play whenever a viable option is discussed.
Now is the time to be patient, give yourself some grace and use your faith. We are facing a time when resilience and intentional decision making will be crucial for getting over the hurdles that may pop up at any time during the recovery, rebuilding and resetting process. It may not be smooth sailing but there are others on this journey with you. Be encouraged knowing that this past year has prepared you for the unexpected. You faced it and you survived it.
