HIS GRACE Romans 6

Dear Fellow Entrepreneur,

Wouldn’t it be wonderful if our days could be fruitful, yet leave us feeling more energized, alive and fulfilled? The good news is, Christ is our portion, and we will abound through His grace.

As believers we can say, “So long stress-driven, selfempowered planning,” for we have access to His grace through all the days of our lives.

Together with me, let’s welcome God’s abounding grace into every detail of our daily activities. As we look forward to another fruitful year, let’s do so with a more vigorous and vibrant mindset, and celebrate His goodness in our lives. Your friend and sister,

Grace Sabarus

But my life is worth nothing to

me unless I use it for finishing the

work assigned me by the Lord

Jesus—the work of telling others

the Good News about the

wonderful grace of God. Acts 20

HOW TO U S E YOU R GRAC E PL ANNE R™ To make the most of your GRACEPLANNER process, you’ll want to read the instructions below. The key to living a life in abounding grace is to recognize your weaknesses while embracing God’s grace to strengthen you along your journey. I suggest, as you walk through the GRACEPLANNER process, you take time to meditate on what has worked well in the past for you, and ponder what you want to change this year.

THINK STRATEGICALLY: YOUR LIFE PLAN As you go through the worksheets in the first pages of your planner, you may find that this process is something you are familiar with, considering there are many life coaching books offer the same process. However, like the wiseman says, repetition perfects. It’s important that you keep aligning your vision as you get a new revelation from God. You have the whole year to go back to this worksheet, when you get inspired of a new vision.

Furthermore, you will find this process enjoyable, as you will discover more of yourself and how precious God has created you to be. This section is designed to help you define your business on grace terms. After all, You Are The GracePlanner!

PLAN YOUR GRACE: LIVE ABUNDANTLY As you go deeper into planning, you will find a yearly calendar, as well as monthly and weekly planners. Use the yearly calendar to list upcoming holiday plans, big projects, conferences you plan to attend. Add to it as needed throughout the year. Completing this calendar will give you a snapshot of the important events and tasks planned for the year.

Go through the same process at the beginning of each month. List meetings, tasks, or deadlines that are expected each month. You may also record here ideas for your next blog, social media plan, or store inventory updates.

When planning your week, you may want to start by outlining the projects you’ll need to undertake in order to support the accomplishment of your goals. Try to specifically visualize and define how you want it to look when a project is completed. Getting a clear picture of what good things will happen in your business during the week will give you focus and motivation.

Each week, you will be encouraged to connect God’s promises to your business situation to keep your spirit empowered. You are as well encouraged to embrace one of God’s character traits, as well as keep in check any negativity that may try to entangle you. In your own terms, you will enliven your spirit by writing down anything you are grateful for during the week. You will also be reminded to celebrate small wins as you reach out to your family, friends, or clients. The goal of walking through the planner with God’s grace as your guide is that by the end of the year you will see the progress you’ve made in both your attitude and business. Making simple, strategic changes week by week throughout the year will take you farther than you’ve ever been.

Wishing you a grace-abounding year. See you at the top!

MY REALITY CHECK: WHERE ARE YOU NOW?

It’s great to start your journey in 2015 with a reality check. It’s important to assess where you are in order to move to the next level. Where are you now in each of these areas? Being aware of your weaknesses enlightens you to the areas you need to invite God’s grace into. Let him know where you want help or where you want to see change. Assessing what’s working in your life helps you see God’s hand in your labor. As you become aware of the fruit he’s allowed you to bear, you’ll be more grateful for His goodness.

ENLARGE YOUR VISION

Now that you are aware of your current position, you can look forward to the untold blessings God has prepared for your future! He has favor planned in your future like you’ve never imagined. He wants to take you places you’ve never even dreamed of. But in order to partake of all these blessings, I encourage you to first increase your capacity to receive by opening your mind wide, deep, long and far. Start by meditating on these questions: How will you know when you are living out your vision? What is the beauty you foresee there? Can you sense the joy you’ll feel in the midst of seeing your vision unfold? Dream big. Write down your wildest ideas.

Feel free to comeback to this page anytime God reveals something in your spirit. By writing down your vision, it gives you time to conceive it in your spirit and let it magnified as you pray about it.

YOUR LEGACY: THE WHY YOUR HEART ACHES FOR

Now that you’ve enlarged your vision, use this part to align your dreams with your bigger vision. Great business dreams are rooted in a clear purpose. There is a why behind them that is rooted in the legacy you want to leave behind. To gain clarity about your life purpose, use this part to analyse your dreams. Ask yourself, what have you been longing to experience in your life? How will you know when it happens? Don’t worry about whether you think you can make it or not. Look outside yourself. Big dreams aren’t those achieved out of self-reliance, but conceived out of God’s beautiful grace.

DREAMS FOR FAMILY

What are your dreams for your family? Weighing everything, what do you want out of life for your marriage, your spouse, your kids and extended family?

DREAMS FOR FINANCE

What kind of dreams do you have around your finances? Do you have dreams to live a debt-free life? Do you have a dream to support a ministry?

DREAMS FOR BUSINESS

What is that one thing you always want to do? Have you been dreaming of doing something big for the past ten years?

DREAMS FOR Spiritual maturity

What do you admire about God? What of his character do you want manifested through your thinking, behavior and attitude? What spiritual encounters are you longing to experience through your daily business activities?

personal DREAMS

Your dreams are filled with desires unique to you. Now, prioritize the dreams you have for this particular season by eliminating the lesser important dreams one by one until you define 4 dreams that truly matter. Ponder this questions to help you choose ones that will allow you to live life with a pure purpose: What are those dreams mean to your life? How will they leave a big legacy? Later, you will translate your dreams into goals, then into action plans, then into daily tasks to carry out throughout the season. Therefore, you need to be clear of why these dreams are your big whys. Answer why you’re doing what you’re doing and the reasons behind your thoughts, feelings and actions both in life and in business. Why #1

TALENTS, PASSION & SKILLS: THE WHAT GIFTED UNIQUELY TO YOU

God is aware of every single one of your talents. In fact, he gave you the seeds at birth and helped you develop them along the way through your passions and skills. The first step in appreciating your passions and skills is to recognize them as special grace gifts from God! It gives Him great pleasure to see you put to use that which you’ve been graced with. Now, go and check out your Gallup’s Talent Themes. You may take the online Strengthfinder assessment if you haven’t done so. What are your talents, passion and skills hidden in your Top 5 Gallup Strengths? Highlight any word that represents you. While answering the questions in the sections below, dedicate each answer to be used in God’s greater purpose, both in your personal and professional life. Your revelations here are the elements with which you will build your dreams.

vocation

In your business, what brings energy to you mind and soul? What strength that makes you stand out in what you do? What activities bring the best out of you?

wisdom

What conversation has had a great impact on you? What subject fascinates you? What topics do you like to read or learn about?

excitement

What gets you excited? Using your senses, what do you love to hear, see, feel, taste and smell? What brings joy to your heart? What gets you going emotionally?

heart-ache

What ignites your spirit? What are you passionate about? What is your heart-ache?

Now, use your most powerful answers above to help prioritize the 4 gifts you’re going to focus on maximizing this season. Write them in the boxes below. It was all his idea, a gift prepared for us in Jesus long before we knew anything about it. ~2 Timothy What #1

YOUR IDEAL CLIENT: THE REFLECTION OF WHO YOU ARE

Who do you think your ideal client would be? When we think of someone who may be blessed through our business, we think of someone who may share the kind of life we have. Here, you will define your ideal client as the one unto whom grace has been done, or will be done, the way grace has done unto you. First, discover Who You Are in Christ. Then go through from the previous pages what desires, vision, goals and dreams birth in you as a result of knowing yourself. Write down the hope and desires you cultivate for your ideal client. Have a close look at how you play your role in life, the life-style you change and the kind of resources you leverage to live your life to the fullest. Consider the pain you went through, the past mistakes you’ve made, and denials you held dear. Think about how you overcome your struggles and what victory you celebrate. On top of it, ponder deeply how God brings you into wholeness. What “specific verb” did God do unto you? Bring them to the forefront of your thinking with an intention of gracing your clients the way God makes you whole.

YOUR BUSINESS PROPOSITION: THE PROMISED LAND

A business proposition defines your business in terms of what it is, what it does, why it will be important to your clients and how it will grace the life of your clients. It contains the abundance of what your life can offer. Your whole life, and all the goodness in it, is the promised land to your clients. Bring your why, what, how and who from the previous pages together to be rooted in your promised land so that you will always move in your pure purpose. Bringing it all together will bring awareness to your personal best, and help you deliver products and services that will grace your ideal clients with mutual joy and satisfaction.

YOUR BRAND IDENTITY: SHOWER YOUR CLIENTS WITH GRACE

Now that you have a clear business proposition and some products or services ideas, how are you going to build a brand identity for them? Giving them an identity differentiates you from other with products or services that may look similar - but offering a total different experience. It’s the key to turning prospective consumers into loyal customers. A brand is more than what your product does or what you communicate.

Your brand identity is the total perception of your brand in the marketplace, including an implied promise to your customers that your product or service will consistently meet their expectations every time they interact with your brand.

Brands evoke emotions,

delight us, grace our clients,

feel familiar and reliable.

So now, you know you need a strong brand. The real question is, "How do you build one?" Building a strong brand is about having a clear understanding of what your brand stands for, and then making sure everyone else understands it too. It is as simple — and as complicated — as that.

If you're serious about building a brand, don't start advertising just yet. Marketing tactics are the last step. Building or reenergizing your brand starts with answering some questions about business. Go back to your Business Proposition page and start identifying the brand for your business. Ask yourself the questions on the next page and write your ideas. GUIDELINES: GIVING YOUR BUSINESS A BRAND NAME (IF IT’S NOT YOUR PERSONAL NAME)

IS IT EASY TO SAY? Names are said more than read. After all, when words are read, they're also spoken in the mind of the reader.

IS IT EASY TO SPELL? Can customers find it in the phone book or "Google" it without trouble? Usually words that are easy to spell are also relatively short.

DOES IT HAVE A POSITIVE CONNOTATION THAT'LL APPEAL TO CUSTOMERS? Words carry both a literal meaning and an emotional meaning. You want to create a positive emotional tie as well as a positive cognitive one. For example, "Li'l Bro" carries more emotional meaning than "Little Brother." IS IT LEGALLY AVAILABLE? Start by checking with the Patent and Trademark Office.

IS IT, OR SOME LOGICAL FORM OF IT, AVAILABLE AS A URL? (.com or .org, preferably.) This is less important if the internet won't play a large role in your distribution methodology. However, virtually all businesses these days maintain some kind of web presence.

IS IT INTERESTING OR UNIQUE? Name like "Interior For Less" is unique and descriptive but not emotionally compelling, especially when the product is associated with the luxury feeling your offer. What's more, generic names usually have less stamina from a branding perspective, since our minds tend to remember things that are unique. DO YOU VISUALIZE ANYTHING WHEN YOU READ THE NAME? "Royal Couture" might bring to mind a trophy. The addition of a visual and functional element reinforces the name, making it more memorable. Is it descriptive? If it's not, that's okay. You can always add a tagline or byline for description.

Who are my clients?

YOUR BUSINESS BRAND IDENTITY

Who is other successful business or people who serve this typical clients? How do they position their brands? What problem does my business solve? In what way the cares and concerns of clients answered? What is the value I offer? Is it distinctive? Is it relevant to my clients? Can it be the reasons to believe in me? How do I answer my clients differently from the similar products or services? When people think about my product or service, what are the feelings and associations I want them to have? Are these feelings and associations unique? Can people “own” them? In what way do they grace the clients? What are the “wow” functional benefits that we deliver to our clients? What are the “long-to-be-forgotten” emotional benefits that only we deliver to our clients? What kind of personality will my brand have?

Now, take blank papers and work on your business brand names according to guidelines on the previous page. Choose your final Brand Name and write it down:

My Brand Name

BRAND POSITIONING STATEMENT

Let’s create a brand positioning statement that will help you more easily choose a great brand name, logo, and create a marketing plan that’s based on how you want to position your business. Marketing is how you will communicate your brand positioning. The goal of marketing is to entice potential clients in ways that build trust. Your brand positioning statement will help you or your marketing service partners—advertising agency, designers, media buying, web marketing, consultants, etc.— gear your marketing in the right direction. Use this tool to discover your brand name, identify your brand difference, and define how your brand will grace your clients with unforgettable benefits. TO MY CLIENTS:

VISUALIZE IT!

Now this is the most fun part of the creative process, creating your brand logo. Answer these questions one by one, meditating on your answers. The greater clarity you have about what you want, the stronger your visualization will be. You do this with a combination of these 8 key elements: 1. SYMBOLS – instantly makes people think of traits that you want associated with your company. What particular symbols do you like and why? Flowers? Animals? Fruits? Greek? Science? Ancient Letters? 2. COLORS – each color in the spectrum has a psychological effect that you can use to your advantage. What colors capture your attention and why? Tangerine? Turquoise? Amethyst? Lemon? Be specific. 3. WORDS – your business name or slogan, in as few words as possible to get the message across. The catchier, the better! What words that will bring up the feelings you want your clients to sense when they see your logo? 4. FONTS – the style of the lettering conveys a certain feel as well. Using the wrong font can definitely send the wrong message! What identification or shared characteristics do you want your client to feel? 5. SHAPES – basic shapes like the circle, square and triangle appeal to the logical side of our brains and bring additional symbolism. What symbol brings your clients to see themselves using your product or service? 6. CLARITY & BOLDNESS – You want something that looks great whether you make a lapel pin, a bumper sticker or a billboard out of it. Don’t pussyfoot around it – declare who you are and what you’re about proudly! What clarity and boldness will you show in your logo? The size of the fonts? The dominating color? 7. CREATIVITY, ARTISTRY, INSPIRATION – It takes a careful balance of all of the elements, plus a bit of inspiration to make a great logo. How would you balance the logo? Color combination? Graphic types? And since you are a blessed person... 8. WONDER –the final, indefinable element that can make the simple into something legendary. How would you create wonder in the logo design? Overall, what makes it memorable?

When you have your brand logo figured out, discuss your ideas with a graphic designer. You may also choose to purchase a logo from an online supplier. Go ahead and pick anything that explains your ideas.
