In Activities we are excited to welcome back a variety of events and club activities. We continue to work with our Board of Directors, General Manager and Staff to move forward and navigate our path to reopening through the pandemic. HAVE YOU VISITED YOUR SCG LIBRARY? We are open! Important items to note are a maximum of 6 persons are allowed in the Library at the same time and masks are required. But most important is – we hope you will stop in and enjoy your Library. CHACO CULTURE NATIONAL HISTORIC PARK
APRIL 23-25 | FRIDAY-SUNDAY $499 (BASED UPON DOUBLE OCCUPANCY) $99 (SINGLE SUPPLEMENT)
Day One: We’ll head towards Payson, with a stop for snacks, on our way to Heber, Arizona, for lunch on self at the Red Onion Restaurant. After lunch we’ll travel to Farmington, New Mexico, and check into our hotel. We’ll refresh before gathering for our own Happy Hour and carry-out dinner from Los Hermanito’s, serving delicious New Mexico-style food, and it’s all included. Day Two: We’ll enjoy breakfast, included at the hotel, then head for Chaco Culture National Historical Park. Chaco Canyon is home to the most exceptional concentration of pueblos in the Southwest. Climate change is thought to have led to the emigration of Chacoans and the eventual abandonment of the canyon. Chaco Canyon is a World Heritage Site and considered sacred ancestral homelands by the Hopi and Pueblo people. A picnic lunch is included. Late afternoon we’ll return to our hotel, refresh and meet for our own Happy Hour, included, before heading out to enjoy dinner on self. Day Three: We’ll enjoy breakfast at the hotel, included, and then head home.
MADERA CANYON & THE LONGHORN GRILL
APRIL 21 | WEDNESDAY | $95 The Longhorn Grill in Amado, one of southern Arizona’s most iconic landmarks, was reopened in 2019. Lunch is on self, then we’re off to Madera Canyon, located on the northwestern face of the Santa Rita Mountains in the Coronado National Forest.
DESERT TO TALL PINES SCENIC DRIVE & BRUZZI’S VINEYARD
APRIL 27 | TUESDAY | $125 The seventy-six-mile Desert to Tall Pines Scenic Byway follows Highway 288 from Globe to the tiny town of Young, Arizona. This area, known by cowboys as “the high lonesome,” is one of the most scenic drives in the state. Young is home to the first vineyard in Gila County, Bruzzi’s Vineyard. We’ll visit the winery, taste a flight of six wines and enjoy a hearty lunch of Italian style sandwiches on the patio—all included.
