GRANITE GOLD Presents
Tips For Cleaning Granite Countertops
Before Cleaning: Check Your Seal ➢ Dribble a few water drops onto the surface. ➢ If beading occurs, then the granite has a secure seal. ➢ If the water appears to be soaking into the stone, be sure to reseal the granite before cleaning the surface.
Granite Cleaning Basics: ● Use a soft microfiber cloth to remove dirt and fine debris from the countertop surface ● Use a cleaning product that is formulated specifically for stone ● DO NOT use vinegar, ammonia or other acidicbased cleaners as they will dull the stone
● Use water combined with baking soda to remove oil-based stains ● Use water and hydrogen peroxide to rid hardwater staining ● To sanitize countertops periodically, invest in disinfecting wipes that are safe for granite.
Other Granite Care Tips: ● Reseal granite every two years ● Clean spills immediately ● Avoid placing hot pans directly on granite; instead use a trivet. ● Repair cracks as soon as possible
With proper care and maintenance, granite countertops can last for years in both style and functionality.
