Elliott Renard Bing is a native of Augusta, Georgia. He is the seventh of eight children born to Deacon Roman E. Bing and Gladys B. Bing. He was educated in the public school system of Richmond County, Georgia.

Upon graduation from Glenn Hills High School, he enlisted in the United States Naval Reserve and continued his education, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from Augusta University in 1992. He also attended the Augusta Theological Seminary of the American Baptist College.

He is a veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom and retired from the United States Naval Reserve after 22 years of service.

Reverend Bing was licensed and ordained as a Minister of the Gospel at the Palmer Grove Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend Dr. J. J. Smith. In January 2007, he was called to Pastor the Phillip Grove Baptist Church in Waynesboro, Georgia, where he presently serves. In addition to serving in this capacity, he also serves as an instructor for the 10th District Education Congress of the General Missionary Baptist Convention of Georgia, Inc, and as the past Moderator of the Noah Ebenezer Central Baptist Association.

Reverend Bing is a bi-vocational Pastor who has been employed by the Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice as a Case Expeditor since 1993. He is a member of the Georgia Juvenile Services Association, the Board of Directors for the Augusta Association of Football Officials and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.

Reverend Bing has been blessed with a wonderful family including his wife, the former Andrea Ovens; and their three children-Meagan, Emanuel, and Alexis.
