JANUARY, 2018
Letter from the Chairwoman It is hard to believe that we are at the start of another new year! 2017 was a great year for the Grapevine Chamber under the leadership of Mr. Joe Szymaszek, and I want to thank him for all of the work that he did on behalf of all of our businesses. As the 2018 Chairwoman of the Board for the Chamber, I look forward to building upon the great things that we are currently doing, and I look to improve in areas where we can offer more value to our members. I am a wife, a mother to three young children and an entrepreneur, currently working on three small businesses and a non-profit. Life is BUSY to say the least! That is why I am choosing to focus this year on value and efficiency — making sure that your investment dollars and time spent at Chamber events are VALUABLE and additionally, making sure we are maximizing your time and money in the most efficient way that we can. I know that we are all pulled in many different directions and we all have choices as to where we spend our time and money. My goal is for you to feel like your investments into the Chamber are time and money well spent. I welcome your input and suggestions this year and look forward to serving as your Chairwoman for 2018!

2018 Women’s Division The Women’s Division of the Grapevine Chamber of Commerce is a “can do” organization that promotes friendship, philanthropy and business among its members, the Grapevine Chamber and the community. Each year our organization, through fundraising activities, provides school supplies for our local GCISD children. The packs are distributed at the district’s Back to School Fair in August. In addition, we provide gifts and other necessities for senior adults in our community through our Christmas Spirit Program. Look back at 2017- we had one of the most successful Great Tastes of Grapevine events ever raising almost $22,000. We engaged in several new smaller activities to spread our message raising more than $2,500. Volunteered at Main Street Days and GrapeFest and we earned $4,228. Provided almost $31,500 in school supplies to more than 1,300 students. Coordinated and delivered Christmas gifts, and donated another estimated $12,500 in other items to almost 100 disadvantaged senior adults in our community. We wrapped up our 2017 with our 2nd annual Elves on the Run 5k which raised approximately $20,000. This could not be achieved without our sponsors, volunteers and participants. Without all this support, it would not be possible for the Women’s Division of the Grapevine Chamber to help those in need. To all of you, THANK YOU! Mark your calendars for April 19, 2018, when we hold the 23rd Annual Great Taste of Grapevine. The event will be held at the Embassy Suites at 2401 Bass Pro Dr. Grapevine. The Great Taste will have more than 20 local restaurants that will serve delicious samples of their menu items. Watch for more details. We meet monthly on the third Tuesday of every month at 11:45 a.m. In 2018, we will continue to have our luncheons at the Courtyard Marriott TownePlace Suites located at 2200 Bass Pro Ct. Grapevine. If you have any questions or would like to join the organization, feel free to contact me. Connect with us at: https://www.grapevinechamber.org/womendiv.aspx or find us on facebook: https://www.facebook.com/GVCCWD. Have a happy and prosperous 2018!
