The REC of Grapevine Camps

THE REC SUMMER CAMP

This camp is the best way to spend your summer. Campers are led in multiple activities planned for them each week by camp staff. Campers will also be able to swim in The REC Aquatic Center three days of the week. Registration will be weekly and will coincide with GCISD summer break. Get ready to make it a great summer! Dates: Monday, May 30 - Friday, August 12 (weekly) Location: The REC of Grapevine Time: 7:30 am – 5:30 pm Ages: 7 – 9 years & 10 – 12 years Fee: $155 Member / $170 Non-member

Note: Camp will not meet on Monday, July 4; fees will be adjusted for that week. Campers should bring lunch and snacks or snack money, we will have a morning snack and afternoon snack time. Campers should not be dropped off before 7:30 am.

MEET THE STAFF NIGHT

Parents and campers can come meet The REC camp staff and find out what to expect over the summer. Parents can also fill out camper information forms and pick up camp t-shirt for the summer. Date: Thursday, May 26 Time: 6:00 – 8:00 pm

REC EXCURSION CAMP

This camp is designed for the adventurer inside every one of us. This camp will take participants on a different excursion each day. Please have your camper at the location of the excursion 15 – 20 minutes beforehand for check-in. Campers need to wear appropriate attire for each excursion. Space will be limited per camp. Get ready for a week of adventure and fun! BIKING GRAPEVINE TRAILS

Campers will spend the morning biking around Grapevine Lake. There are over 67 miles of trails throughout Grapevine and campers will be guided through Horseshoe Trail alongside Grapevine Lake taking in the scenic views. Campers will be provided a bike but are more than welcome to bring their own. Campers will need to be dropped off and picked up at the trailhead of Horseshoe Trail. Day: Monday Location: Horseshoe Trail Time: 9:30 am – 12:00 pm

KAYAKING

Kayaking is a fast growing and diverse sport that all ages can learn and enjoy. In this one-day adventure campers will learn basic kayaking. Campers will learn the basic strokes of kayaking to move in every direction. Water safety will also be taught to campers throughout the day. All boats, life jackets, paddles will be provided. Please wear appropriate attire for getting wet. Day: Tuesday Location: Rockledge Park Time: 9:30 am – 12:30 pm

DAY ON THE FARM

Campers will have the opportunity to spend the morning on the farm. Nash Farm is the oldest intact farmstead in Tarrant County. Students will learn about survival needs like water, food sources, changes in technology and more. Campers will also have a chance to bake fresh goodies. Campers will need to be dropped off and picked up at Nash Farm. Day: Wednesday Location: Nash Farm Time: 9:30 am – 12:30 pm

LASER COMBAT

Campers will be competing in games of outdoor Laser Tag. Outdoor Laser Combat has all the same thrills and action as paintball but, it’s completely painless! The technology in our Laser Tag guns also means that it’s not possible to cheat like you can with paintball, so Laser Combat in summary, is a painless, and a fair game of action and fun. Day: Thursday Location: Trawick Pavilion Time: 9:30 am – 12:30 pm

DOVE WATERPARK

Dove Waterpark offers two slides, a diving board, a lily pad crossing, rock climbing wall and a zero-depth entry, perfect for all levels of swimmers. Campers will get a chance to swim along with friends at one of our wonderful pools. Lunch will be provided including pizza and a drink. Campers will need to be dropped off and picked up at the front entrance of Dove Waterpark. Day: Friday Location: Dove Waterpark Time: 9:30 am – 1:30 pm

Note: Please wear appropriate attire for each excursion. Life jackets will be required and provided for kayaking.
