Typical classes include warm-up exercises (with and without light weights), and slow versions of basic martial arts techniques (kata forms) drawn from the Wado-Ryu style of Karate. The purpose of Wado-Ryu is to lead people to a sense of peace and harmony of spirit; and is considered the oldest of the all-Japanese styles of karate.
