In Kind

Welcome to the 2023 Gratitude Investor Gathering!

We are grateful to once again gather in person, this year in a new location – the redwoods of northern California, at 1440 Multiversity. This year’s Gathering theme is Shared Future: knowing that our destinies are intertwined and the actions we take today impact the lives of future generations.

For Gratitude Railroad, this year marks a decade since our founding – and thus ten years of convening, learning, and investing. Over the past year, we have made a number of organizational changes: we’ve expanded our team; refined and grown our investment platform; and created a Board of Stewards and with it a set of governing principles reflective of our values and vision. These moves signal our commitment to amplify our impact now and over the next ten years, as we redouble our efforts to galvanize community and capital to create change.

And yet, this Gathering reminds us that we are but one small part of a bigger movement. We know we can only achieve a better future by working together and expanding our collective understanding of what is possible. Our Gathering agenda is designed to help us to see the big picture and how to take steps toward it; sessions will explore interconnected themes including the environment, social equity, and the changing market landscape we invest within.

We hope you will also find plenty of time to connect with existing and new friends and collaborators, and to sit around the fire pits with the inspiring investors, entrepreneurs, operators and artists who are with us this week.

A special thank you to our speakers, Board of Stewards, and sponsors for contributing your time and thought leadership.

—– The Gratitude Team

A true conversation piece, it set between two stones pointing exactly due North.

Art & Sculpture Collection

Instead of putting art on display in a gallery, 1440 works with artists to choose indoor and outdoor locations on campus where their painting, installation or sculpture can be discovered. There are 10 artists and 20 pieces represented; whether the piece blends in or stands out, it can inspire reflection, new ideas and conversations that otherwise might not happen. Art and sculptures can be discovered on each campus trail.
