First Flight

As we approach the end of another year, with the holidays just around the corner, we don’t often think of historical dates, or the accomplishments of our forefathers, but American history is full of life-changing events that have happened in the last month of the year. One such date is December 17, 1903. On this date, in Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, Wilbur and Orville Wright made four brief flights in the first powered aircraft.
