Wendy attended the NFIB meeting in Springfield to learn about issues facing our small businesses including the mandatory paid time off act, followed by a quick trip to the capital where she was able to meet up with Sen. Christopher Belt. She was also invited to attend a USDA Grant Presentation with U.S. Congresswomen Nikki Budzinski, Undersecretary for Rural Development Xochitl Torres Small and IL Dir. For USDA Betsy Dirksen-Londrigan.

The following week, Wendy attended the Public Policy Speaker Series with U.S. Congresswomen Mary E. Miller and Nikki Budzinski. They discussed current issues on Capitol Hill, including the reauthorization of the farm bill and its impact on southwestern Illinois and the St. Louis metro.

Later in the day Wendy was at Andria’s Steakhouse with Sen. Christopher Belt, Rep. Katie Stuart and Fairview Heights Mayor Mark Kupsky for a tour of the restaurant and bottling production area for Andria’s sauces and dressings, sharing the vision for Andria’s Food Group production facility and the current challenges facing small businesses and production facilities.

As you can see, we continue every day to live our mission, Advancing Business, Supporting Community!

Leadership Belleville Regional Growth Day

On April 21st, The Leadership Belleville Class of 22-23 toured MidAmerica Airport and Scott Air Force Base. The class gained an understanding of the key challenges and goals for the economic development of the community. The tour included the U.S. Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM) and the 932nd Airlift Wing. Not only did they get a special look around Scott, they learned how vital the mission partner’s roles are at Scott Air Force Base.
