WELCOME TO THE ASIAN BUSINESS CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

Welcome to Asian Business Chamber of Commerce, the Chamber that aims to represent the Asian business community across Greater Birmingham.

Formed in 1987, the ABCC has a long history in supporting the vast variety of diverse, Asian businesses that operate in the West Midlands. The largest Chamber of its kind, the ABCC acts as a gateway for any organisations looking to target the West Midlands Asian business community.

The ABCC is committed to speaking up for members and offering members a diverse offering in terms of business support, networking and event opportunities. As well as offering member services, the ABCC acts as an advocate for Asian businesses and speaks as an influential voice for the views and opinions of its members, aiming to represent their business needs.

Overall, the ABCC is here for all businesses. We aim to champion their successes, be firm in the face of adversity, and supportive through tough times. Whatever the business need, the ABCC aims to support our members in order for them to continue to develop, connect and grow.

WELCOME FROM THE ABCC PRESIDENT

Wow – how time flies!

One year as President and here I am addressing you for another term as ABCC President. I thank God for the opportunities presented to me and the ABCC Executive Board for putting their trust and faith in me.

The past 12 months has been challenging as well as truly enjoyable. As a board, we have had fun and worked hard in laying the ground work for initiatives to be launched in the next 12 months (hopefully!)

I want to reflect on the last 12 months. We have seen the GBCC move into modern new offices, launch a brand-new website and continue to run numerous successful events within the region. Some massive changes and challenges have been navigated that allow us to now move forward and bring further value to our members!

From an ABCC point of view, we ran highly successful festival and member social events and onboarded three new Patrons: Forward Carers, Gloss and Kids Village. Our annual dinner and awards in November created an amazing buzz, highlighting the best within the Asian Business Community!

We also collaborated at the Asian Lifestyle Show and with the West Midlands Tax Group.

Moving forward to the next 12 months and I welcome Trina Tiernan and Sana Saddique as our two new Executive Board members who no doubt will bring fresh ideas and support. I equally congratulate the re-appointment of all Executive Board members and my two Vice-Presidents, Neelam Afzal and Sapreena Kumari.

Businesses continue to face the challenges of cost of living, business and energy rates, investment opportunities and recruitment to ensure they are in a position to continue to grow. My board will be exploring and strengthening new and existing partnerships and collaboration opportunities to provide the necessary support Asian businesses require.

We will equally be creating an exclusive support network and opportunity for business women and professionals to enhance their personal and business development and ultimately bringing members the maximum value and impact from their membership.

We look forward to our three festival events, six member-only socials and our annual dinner and awards over the next 12 months. Our focus will remain to ensure we deliver high-quality events for our members and for those businesses wanting to tap into the Asian business community.

As we move forward, I encourage all members to actively participate and engage with us. We want to be part of your journey. We want you to maximise your membership and it’s benefits. Your input and feedback are critical to shaping the future direction of the ABCC. Together, we can build a stronger and more vibrant community that empowers Asian businesses to thrive and succeed.
