It symbolises growth, harmony, freshness and a connection to nature. Our natural greens, from forest to lime, are tranquil and refreshing. Great Lakes green spaces go on forever and offer a chance to get closer to nature.
Gold - From the golden sandy beaches to vibrant sunrises and sets, Great Lakes gold will leave you breathless. Our gold is the space between blue and green. amazing lakes
The Myall Lakes are RAMSAR listed as a wetland of international significance. It has four parts covering an area triple that of Sydney Harbour. An incredible 280 bird species call the lakes home, which is more than Kakadu, and it is a part of the Myall Lakes National Park. The lakes are lined with campsites, fishing spots, tracks, trails, history and home to some of the best experiences in the Great Lakes.
Smiths Lake The smaller of the three great lakes, but just as majestic, is Smiths Lake, located mid way between Myall and Wallis Lakes. The lake offers warm calm waters, dotted with islands and bounded by National Park and the township of Smiths Lake. The lake is separated from the ocean by an impressive sandbar formation on Cellito Beach.
Wallis Lake Wallis Lake is one of the cleanest lakes in Australia, boasting crystal clear waters all year round. It is home to a rich seafood harvest including the famous Wallis Lake oyster. It is 25km long, 9km wide and fed by

Smiths and Wallis – each have their own personality.
In the past, they were a link between the timber industry and the coast. Today they are recreational hubs offering a multitude of experiences and opportunities. You can stay along the edge of them, dine or enjoy a coffee lakeside, celebrate with them as a backdrop, paddle, sail, swim, boat, fish, bird spot or simply sit back and relax. amazing walks and rides Mungo Brush Rainforest Walk Mungo Brush is a popular camping area in the Myall Lakes National Park and has a number of walking trails including a spectacular rainforest walk. This loop track winds through a patch of coastal (littoral) rainforest and takes about 30 minutes with an easy grade. A closed canopy of native trees dominates the walk. You will encounter a variety of bird life and possibly spot a koala.
Booti Headland Track Commencing at the southern end of Seven Mile Beach in the Booti Booti National Park, the Booti Track takes you up over a rocky forested headland to Elizabeth Beach; the grade is steep and best suited to those of good fitness. An alternative for the less energetic, is to cross The Lakes Way to the edge of Wallis Lake and follow the shoreline around to the Green Cathedral. The ocean and lakeside walks combined cover 7km. This walk is excellent for viewing local birdlife and has sensational ocean and lake views.
Bicentennial Walk This walk follows the beautiful foreshores of Forster. From the base of the bridge to One Mile Beach, this is an easy meandering 2-hour walk taking in historic sites, beaches and headlands around Forster. It can be done completely or in parts depending on your fitness and time. Throughout this walk, there are a number of seating areas and lookout points to take in the views. During whale season, the walk has some great spotting areas.
What are you waiting for? Get out there and discover the amazing trails of the Great Lakes. Whether you are walking or riding there are incredible views of vast and varied landscapes from dramatic coasts to deep green forests to patchwork fields that blanket rolling hinterland hills. From an easy two hour stroll along the coast or through a historic village to more challenging five hour rides to tall lookouts. There is something for everyone in the Great Lakes.
