In 1974, President Gerald Ford signed the bill that established the Cuyahoga Valley National Recreation Area. In the year 2000, Congressman Ralph Regula helped to change the park’s designation to Cuyahoga Valley National Park.

With 33,000 acres of natural treasures, Ohio’s only national park was the seventh most-visited park in the U.S. in 2020. Walk or ride the Towpath Trail to follow the historic Ohio & Erie Canalway.
