Visitors to the Hocking Hills in 2023 have a new lodge to experience and expand their visit beyond the already great family-friendly hiking trails and outdoor adventures. The original lodge was lost to a fire in 2016, so this debut is an exciting time for the community.
"Rustic charm, spectacular views and an exceptional experience await people at the brand-new Hocking Hill State Park Lodge,” said Ohio Governor Mike DeWine. “After years of planning and construction, we are excited to welcome people into this new facility nestled perfectly into one of our most popular state parks.”
The 74,000-sq.-ft. lodge and conference center has 81 guest rooms and event space for up to 230 people. The timber-framed structure is tucked into the region’s most picturesque forests and sandstone gorges, so you get an intimate experience in the Hocking Hills’ natural surroundings.
The floor-to-ceiling windows by the mezzanine sky bridge let you enjoy the breathtaking scenery any time of the day. Thoughtful details like the small nooks in the lodge corridors make the stay cozy and relaxing. Sit with a cup of coffee by one of the stone fireplaces in the lobby, take a swim in the indoor or outdoor pools, or just enjoy conversation with friends beneath the stars in one of the comfortable outdoor spaces.
Besides catering to overnight guests, the lodge is designed to be a gathering place for all visitors to the area. Anyone can come in to enjoy a bite to eat at the Rock House Restaurant and Pub or pick up a sandwich from the grab-and-go café to enjoy a picnic in the state park.
