Proceeds from our retail sales, including visitor centers, online and this catalog, together with our Membership Program, will allow us to contribute more than $1 million to support this park this year. These funds enable the park to accomplish many important activities, such as:
• supporting park service resource management projects like the elk reintroduction and Gatlinburg bear warden • funding long-term scientific research projects such as water quality monitoring • sponsoring living history demonstrations and environmental education programs • saving hemlock trees from non-native insects • publishing the park newspaper, Smokies Guide, and award-winning books and guides to the Smokies
