What The Fluff Loves Creating Smiles

BY AMY ROSE BUSINESS EDITOR

One of the cutest names in the mobile food business is What The Fluff.

This maker of gourmet cotton candy and other treats, based in Limestone, offers prepackaged cotton candy, lemonade, walking desserts, and popcorn for party favors and purchased goods. They also offer fundraising and wholesale opportunities, as well as the food trailer for festivals and private events.

What The Fluff provides services for all types of private events including birthdays parties, weddings, and corporate events.

Owner Chris GeFellers explained that he and his wife, Emily, “were talking one day and said cotton candy would be a fun thing to do, so we bought a cotton candy machine and the rest is history.”

Chris is a supervisor at his full-time job, which requires multi-tasking, customer service, finances, critical thinking, and engineering skills, and most of that carried over to the small business, he said.

What The Fluff is a family business that includes Chris and Emily, her father Bill Couch, and an employee who handles the birthday parties, Kelly Pitts.

The mobile business serves mainly the Tri-Cities area but will travel as far as Knoxville and Asheville.

“We love creating smiles and making people happy,” Chris said. “Our goal is to provide a service that is affordable and easily accessible and to provide exceptional service.”
