BY AMY ROSE BUSINESS EDITOR
Welcome to Business Bits, a column to announce business developments in Greeneville and Greene County. Watch here for updates on openings, closings, name changes, construction, etc.
Top Choice BBQ has decided to lease out its location on U.S. Highway 11E (formerly Central Park). The drive-thru is transforming into Cup Of Joy. The new sign says they will offer coffee, ice cream and treats.
China Buffet, the only buffet-style Chinese restaurant in Greeneville, is moving to Fairgrounds Plaza, the shopping center where Publix grocery store is located. El Azteca Mexican restaurant in Mosheim is working to add a location at 650 W. Andrew Johnson Highway, the former location of Diamond House Chinese buffet.
The former location of The Greene coffee drive-thru on Tusculum Boulevard is being enclosed. Word is it will be office space, although no specific plans have been announced.
Work continues on converting Stan’s BBQ into Southern Craft BBQ, but no official word on when renovations will be complete.
You’ve probably noticed the Burkes outlet sign in the Greeneville Commons has changed to Bealls. This is not a major change as Burkes has always been a part of the Bealls family. In April, it was announced that Bealls Outlet and Burkes Outlet would both be rebranded to simply “Bealls.” The store continues to carry discounted clothing, housewares, toys, and other items.
