Greeneville Senior Flawless In Technique, Brings Home 2 Golds

Price could feel the pressure of being at the Class 2A state track meet on Tuesday at Dean Hayes Stadium on the campus of Middle Tennessee State University.
But it’s not like the Greeneville senior had never been on a big stage before. This was his third straight state meet. He also won basketball state championships with the Greene Devils in 2021 and 2022, and he’s played in plenty of big games with the Greene Devils’ football team.
So Tuesday wasn’t about getting rid of nerves. It was about precision. And Price was flawless in his technique with personal-record leaps of 22-3 in long jump and 44-4.25 in triple jump to win gold medals in both.
“In the long jump, I was seeded No. 1 and was expecting to win the state championship,”
Price said. “But in triple jump, I was seeded No. 3 and was really just trying to get in the top three. The PR I had there was just crazy.
