Page 2 This heater is designedas a fixed applianceand must be securelyfixed to the floor of the room. lt is for use with Propanegas only and must be installedby a competentperson in accordancewith the rules in force and in a well ventilatedarea. To ensurethat the oxygenlevel in the room does not drop dramatically, an oxy-protector unit is incorporated. This turns off the heater if the oxygen level should fall. A flame failuredevise shuts down the unit if the pilot light blows out. NOTE: Allow 3 minutes between turning offthe heater and attempting to relight.

Check the room ventilation.Pemanent and unobstructedventilationmust be providedin all rooms containingan unfluedheater operatingon solid fuel, oil or gas. Locatethe heaterin the requiredposition,no nearerthan 200mmto any wall, or 300mm belowany shelf or glass.lf used in a greenhouse environment, the average greenhouse has a turbulent atmosphere with hot air rising to be cooled againstthe glassto fall downthe sides. These convectioncurrentsare assistedby the heat, ideallythe heatershould be placed centrallybeneaththe apex, at the oppositeend to the opening door. (see Diagram 1) Locatethe holes in the base flange ofthe heaterand mark throughwith a pencil. Pipe back to the gas cylinder, terminatingin an approved 14' w.g. (37mbar)regulatorwith POL termination. On no account may the gas cylinderbe kept insidethe building, but outside, preferablyon a hard standingsurface.A 1omm hole must be drilledthroughthe wall, and a 8mm pipe connectedfrom the heaterthroughthe 1omm hole to the regulator, using compressionfittingscomplyingwith B.S 846 PART 2. All pipeworkmust be adequatelysupportedand shielded.Pipe and ittings can be obtainedfrom your authoriseddealar (Removered thread plug by unscrewing) NOTE: This installationmust be carriedout by a competentperson. It is advisable that the outside door be fully open until the pressure testing/ commissioning procedure is complete to allow rapid dispersion of any inadvertent propane spillage. Turn the gas ON at the cylinder, check all pipeworkfor leakswith a soapy solution, bubbleswill appear if any leak is detected. Remember in addition to the safety hazard, unburned propane gas, even in minute proportions, is harmful to plants, so a leak free installationis essential. Press and hold the gas plunger, depressthe spark ignitor, repeat until pilot is lit. Keep the plunger depressed for a further 10 seconds then release slowly. On frst operation lhe pipework may be ftlled with air and ignition will not be achieved until this air is purged out of the pipework, this may take a few minutes. When the pilotflame has been ignitedhold the buttonin for a furthell0 seconds and then releaseslow|y. The pilot should now remainlit. Turn the heater OFF by shuttingthe gas offatthe supply.

THERMOSTAT SENSOR POSITIONING Thethermostat supplied withthismodelis not 1007o accurate it is thereforeimportant to ensurethatthe sensorprobeis positioned correctly to senseandrespond to thechanging temperatures so thatbestresullscanbeobtained, thisis a TRIAL procedure & ERROR asnotallgreenhouses arethesame. positioning Positioning the probefurtherawayfromthe heaterwillmakethe healerrunhofterandforlongeralternatively the probeneaterthe heaterwilltumthethermostat offat lowertemperatures. -,---:S>'} PLEASENOTE: The gas valvein thisheateris alwaysopen (unlessturnedoff at the gas cylinder)whichmeansthatcontrolling it can only be done by adjustingthe thermostattemperaturewith the black plasticknob on the side of the appliance.lt also meansthatthe bumerflamebums at its maximumheightwhetherthe thermostatis set at a low or a high temperature. The thermostatsare factoryset between6"C - 38"C. Settingthe thermostattemperatureis a trial & error procedureso it is recommended thata householdthermometer be usedto helodetermineindividual temperaturesettings.

WARNING When the heater is not in use it must be suitably stor€d and protected. In some areas, spiders and other small insects have been found to spin webs and/or cocq)ns anthe venturi tube and gas burner. These obetructions result in a characteristic yellow flame, or possibly a flash back fire. lf this occurs the heater must not b€ us€d until the obstructions have bEEncl€ared by a competsnt person.
