Who are we? ✓ We are headquartered in South Africa. With years of experience and understanding of renewable energy and Sea water Desalination. ✓ African Renewable Solutions not only provides long term power solutions but also provides immediate off-grid solutions to assist Municipalities and other entities to decrease consumption and increase their revenue.

✓Some of our previous projects include the following: ✓ Supply, design and installation of solar geysers for Anglo American, Eskom, private, commercial and residential clients in South Africa. We worked closely with Eskom and Deloitte on the rebate program. ✓ We also assisted the Minister of Energy in Zambia Honorable Dora Siliya working with Zesco Ltd (Zambia’s power utility company) to design a solution to save electricity due to the ongoing load shedding and the low water levels in the Zambesi river. ✓ Our solution was based on saving 200 Megawatt annually by installing solar water heaters (geysers) as a solar farm would have costed 4 times more and taken up 3 years to commission. African Renewable Solutions www.africanrs.com

Reduce consumption to save costs by installing: • Led lights instead of the conventional 60 and 100 watt bulbs. • Solar Led street lights instead of Conventional HPS or Energy saving bulbs. (That uses no Electricity at all) Generate additional capacity by installing: • Roof top PV systems to generate your own Electricity this will assist with: • Paying Utility debts. • End Load Shedding

Improve revenue system by installing: • GPRS Smart electrical and water meters • Adapt a smart billing system to itemize account for each separate service that the Municipality provides.

SEA WATER DESALINATION The unique decentralized sea water desalination concept that allows for efficient and fast deployment of a plant in areas of acute water supply shortage.

Chemical: The chemical consumption tends to vary according to local conditions, but in any case, the unit will consume no more than 3600 kg of sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl), 400 kg of hydrochloric acid (HCl), 3400kg sodium metabisulfite (SMBS) and 3400 kg of anti –scalant (AS) per month, when operating at maximum capacity (Depending by the seawater characteristics and recovery applied the use of antiscalant can be unnecessary). African Renewable Decentralized Solution: Fast, modular, economical expansion of the plant according to demand Scalability to treat up to 40,000 – 50,000 m3 a day

Consumables: By its unique design with direct feed from the ultrafiltration to the reverse osmosis system, the unit precludes the use of disposable filter cartridges. Under normal operation and maintenance, UF membranes have an estimated life of seven years and RO membranes of four year African Renewable Solutions www.africanrs.com

10

SEA WATER DESALINATION Each of our unique seawater desalination units has a capacity to produce up to 264,000 GPD (1,000 m3/day) of desalinated water, depending on the raw water conditions. The offer is a complete plant, mounted in a 40-foot temperature controlled container, allowing quick installation and easy operation, offering a solution for seawater desalination with low consumption of energy and chemicals. The unit is designed to operate at a wide range of seawater parameters: • Turbidity up to 20 NTU. • Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) of up to 42,000 ppm. • Water temperature of 41°F to 95°F (5°C to 35°C). • Oils and fats up to 1.5 ppm. To perform seawater desalination with parameters outside of this range, additional pretreatment will be required. The plant production capacity depends on the combination of seawater TDS and temperature parameters. African Renewable Solutions www.africanrs.com

11

SEA WATER DESALINATION Power: Among all operational costs, electricity is the highest in any seawater desalination plant. Due to the innovative design and the use of efficient pumping equipment and the most advanced energy recovery device available in the market, the basic module has a power consumption of only 2.45 kWh/m3 of permeate, when the system is powered to produce 264,000 GPD (42.0m3/h) of desalinated water from seawater with 38,000 mg/l TDS at 77 °F (25 °C).

In most countries, there is differentiation of power tariff, per the daylight hours (peak vs. off peak). In such case, it may be beneficial to purchase equipment with higher hourly production capacity and produce the required daily amount of water only during cheaper hourly rates. In only a few months, the electricity savings will pay back the additional investment. African Renewable Solutions www.africanrs.com

SOLAR GEYSERS

By installing a solar geyser consumption can be reduced by 40% as this is the average usage of a normal geyser per household. The estimated cost of a solar water geyser installation is approximately R15 000. By using an itemized smart billing system your clients will be able to afford a solar geyser by paying it off monthly with the 40% saving. Example : Estimated Household electricity cost per month without a solar geyser is R1000, a saving of 40% equals R400. Solution : R15 000 / 60 months = R250 per month, thus a saving of R150 per month and after 60 months it will be paid off, and a saving of R400 every month.
