Enumclaw Campus Find your interest at Green River Community College in Enumclaw Green River’s Enumclaw Campus offers college level courses in math, English, science, and history, as well as computer classes for beginning and more advanced users. We also offer a wide variety of non-credit community education classes on weekdays and Saturdays.

The Enumclaw Campus office hours are Monday–Thursday, 9 a.m.– 8 p.m. When classes are not in session, the Campus closes at 6 p.m.

Credit classes begin June 24, 2013. Tuition is $106.84 per credit for Washington residents. Additional fees apply. Students may register in Enumclaw, at the main campus in Auburn, or by Web registration.

Summer 2013 Credit Classes BASIC 032-076 Adult Basic Education/GED Preparation

Mathematics - Lab (6)

Provides instruction in basic reading, writing, critical thinking, and math to help students acquire fundamental academic, vocational and adult life skills. The GED Preparation course helps students master the skills required in writing, crucial thinking, social studies, science, reading and mathematics to pass the GED exam. This is a pass/no credit course. $25 tuition will be charged for any combination of BASIC classes each quarter. Courses are offered Tuesday and Thursday from 4:25-8:00 p.m.

Business Lab These courses are in a combination lecture/lab setting. Students may work on assignments when lab is open. Faculty available Tuesday and Thursday, 4-7:15 p.m. Lecture times established at start of quarter. Open lab time: 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday.

Uses keyboards to record words and data in the business office, as well as in personal communication. Students learn to operate the alphabet, number, and symbol keys on a computer by touch. Emphasizes speed and accuracy skill development. Students apply these computer skills to formatting basic business documents using a current word processing program. For students with little or no prior keyboarding (typewriting) instruction. Recommend: Eligible for READ 094 and BUS E 102 for those with a keyboarding speed in excess of 40 wpm. Training consists of classroom instruction and state certification in flagging, traffic control and safety. Students will use our unique LEGO kits to build a variety of battling machines. This is a class of exploration, problem solving, and risk-taking with a goal of learning and experimenting with how machines work and compete. Concepts learned will include basic engineering principles; gearing and gear rations; electric motors and energy; friction, forces, motion and aerodynamics; problem solving and communication skills. Learn the basics of how to care for and entertain children in a babysitting situation. Topics include home and child safety, what to do in an emergency, how to get babysitting jobs, and great ideas to keep the kids busy. Self Defense For Teen Girls

This course will provide young ladies the education and awareness to avoid and escape potentially dangerous situations. Course will cover dating violence, how assailants target and test potential victims, personal safety and much more. Students will learn physical techniques, strikes and releases to safely remove one’s self from dangerous situations. It is a great class to take with a friend. Ukulele For Kids

Ukuleles are a fairly simple instrument to learn to play with fairly quick rewards. In this fun and supportive class, students will gain the basic knowledge and skills needed to enjoy playing the ukulele at a beginning level. Class will cover tuning, holding and strumming a ukulele, and basic chords that are used in most songs. Last class will include a performance for friends and family. Instructor has 15 years of teaching the ukulele and can provide information on locating or purchasing a reasonable ukulele. N Jam, rehearse, write, record, and perform live! Camp Rockstar is all about what it’s like to be in a band! We need band members, song writers, recording technicians, stage crew, live sound mixers and lighting artists. “The Show” is the grand finale with a live performance for family and friends. No music experience required, participants will be assigned at least one specialty and will have a mentor leading the group.
