Poorva Karma It is used to prepare the body before starting the panchakarma procedures. In poorva Karma there are mainly three types of treatment procedures, They are: 1

Pradhana Karma In Pradhana Karama, there are mainly five types of operative procedures. 1 Vamana karma Expulsion of vitiated doshas through mouth is termed as vamana or emesis. This treatment is used to cure Kapha dosha related diseases. 2
Virechana Karma Expulsion of doshas through rectum is known as purgation or virechana
This treatment is good for pitta Dasha, it cleanses the pitta and purifies the blood.
3 Vasti Karma
This treatment is used to eliminate vitiated cats and body toxins.
4 Nasya karma
Administration of medicated oils through the nostrils is known as nasyakarma It enhances the activities of sense organs and it is useful to treat the conditions of head, including mental disorders, stress related problems etc. 5 Rakthamoksham It refers to the purification of blood by blood letting.It can be done by means of srnga(horn), jaluka (leech),,alabu(fruit),siravedha etc.
Paschat Karma Paschat Karma is the third and concluding treatment phase of Panchakarma.
It is a 2 step treatment procedure , namely samsarjan karma and rasayana.
