Building greater awareness and interest in construction careers remains a top priority for our association. There are numerous ways to be involved…from school and jobsite visits with students… to serving on our newly forming Scholarship and Endowment committees. We are in the process of forming an annual scholarship program to provide opportunities for students and others to obtain the skilled trades training they need.

Our Scholarship & Endowment committees will be researching and developing this program over the next 6-8 months with the goal of awarding scholarships next spring. Join us for our kickoff meeting of this scholarship initiative on Thursday, September 7 at 12 noon for a working lunch meeting…RSVP on the website.

Casino Night

As a designated fundraiser and official kickoff for our Construction Careers Scholarship Endowment fund, we are planning our inaugural Construction Careers Casino Night to be held on Thursday, October 26 at Starmount Forest Country Club. Blackjack, Roulette, Craps and Poker tables…with all proceeds from sponsorships and ticket sales supporting the Endowment fund. We need volunteers to help us plan this fun and exciting event. Sign up on the website for our planning team.

Meetings are held quarterly…typically prior to our First Wednesday Member Connections. Our next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, September 6 at 3:30 pm…join us.

New this year, our YPN is sponsoring a social media workshop series – Let’s Get Social – designed as an interactive social media training session – open to all members. Thus far we have focused on Facebook and Instagram…learning how to gain greater reach with posts and reels. Upcoming sessions are scheduled as “lunch & learn”s on the last Tuesday of the month…August 29 - September 26 - October 31 from 12 noon – 1:30 pm …focusing on topics of interest determined at each meeting, such as the emerging use of ChatGPT, an artificial intelligence / chatbot app. Mark these dates on your calendar and register in advance on the website.
