ooozing with charm, this circa 1850, two-story Greek Revival-style meeting hall is significant as one of the few buildings surviving from antebellum NC. DOWNSTAIRS: kitchen/living/dining combination, bath and back exit to rear deck. UPSTAIRS: large room with hardwood floors and a half bath. Civil War graffiti is preserved on the walls in the stairwell. Exterior decoration of frame includes a heavily molded pediment, �molded� door and window surrounds fashioned with applied strips of wood and cornerblocks. Heat pump up and down. Moved in 1978 to current location to preserve and restore as a town landmark. Some past uses include Masonic Lodge, Female Institute, Sons of Temperance, a church, a bakery, and a private residence.
