Students will then select from one of three specialist pathways:

Fergal Tuffy: fergal.tuffy@swc.ac.uk

Specialism 2 Industrial Electronics

Specialism 3 Motorsport Technology

Industrial Electronics is an integral part of the control and automation of manufacturing plants and quarry equipment. This course has been designed in partnership with industry to meet local needs for competent technicians qualified to operate at the leading edge of this field. Upon completion of this course, graduates will be able to design and maintain electronic equipment, pneumatic and hydraulic systems and programmable controllers.

Over the past few years there has been a significant increase in the number of small to medium motorsport companies in the UK and Ireland, mainly due to worldwide recognition gained from hosting the World Rally Championships. This specialist course is designed to meet the needs of the motorsport industry by delivering a tailor made technician level qualification that will provide students with a unique competitive edge for employment.
