Treeline Kitchen VENUE SPOTLIGHT » Co-Working Spaces

This recent trend not only benefits lone eagles, remote employees and business travelers, it’s resulting in handy new options for meeting and event locations.

Across the country, hospitality providers are tapping into the co-working space craze by using existing rooms or creating new spaces that cater to entrepreneurial professionals, people who work remotely or just need a break from the office, and even groups. Co-working spaces are interesting new venue options for smaller meetings, so we’re taking a look at two that have popped up in Colorado.

Treeline Kitchen in Leadville launched Workspace @ Treeline, a workspace by day and restaurant by night, in September 2018. Treeline is a sustainable American restaurant serving up locally sourced food, quaint Colorado décor and a variety of meeting and co-working spaces. Outdoor options include a rooftop overlooking Colorado’s two highest peaks, a spacious patio with a fire pit and views of Leadville’s National Historic Landmark District. Indoor spaces include the main dining room, upstairs meeting space and more options in the historic building next door. Treeline Kitchen provides light breakfast and lunch catering options for groups, but their full-service bar is open all day for individuals in case you need some coffee or something stronger. workspace.treelinekitchen.com

Rochester Hotel in Durango opened its co-working R Space next door in 2017 and offers several spaces for working and meeting to accommodate the needs of professionals and groups. R Space is designed to host all forms of networking, co-working, collaborating and idea sharing, and rooms that are more geared toward events and meetings are available. There are a variety of useful resources such as the Leadership Lending Library with more than 200 books and high-speed fiber internet. Members and groups also can utilize the hotel’s bar/lobby area and beautiful Secret Garden. rspacedurango.com —Jenna Barbari
