Filling the skills gap in the manufacturing workplace In most areas of the country today and certainly in Greenville County, manufacturers are facing a skills gap. They have open jobs, but not enough skilled workers to fill their open positions. This is being driven primarily by an aging baby boomer workforce that previously held those skilled jobs, and is moving closer toward retirement. Greenville Technical College’s Corporate and Career Development Division is working closely with local industries and service providers to narrow and potentially close this gap. In doing so, this will have a huge impact on local industry, the local economy and newly skilled individuals seeking employment in the area. We provide world-class customized training for business and industry — our mission is to accelerate your potential. With more than 20 years experience, we can provide the area’s most extensive customized training and consulting resources. We offer an unparalleled breadth of business and industry services resulting in millions of dollars of report client impacts. We specialize in customized training in a wide range of programs with flexible scheduling at our training facilities or on location at your site. Whether you are in need of a skilled workforce to propel your company forward or are an individual wishing to upgrade or acquire new skills, our offerings are your pipeline to success. ~ Gabe Vicks Department Head Skilled Trades & Technical Training
