Our Mission and Strategy Building strong relationships with customers
Expanding the fruit and vegetables category
A direct connection to the field
Many of the world’s largest food retailers and food service companies count on Greenyard every day for a steady and high-quality supply of fruit and vegetables. Greenyard builds strong relationships with its customers, putting our expertise at their service to jointly develop a product offering that enhances their business.
Fruit and vegetables offer almost unlimited opportunities for retailers to differentiate from the competition, develop their offering and strengthen their brand. Thanks to its wide range of products and its in-depth expertise, Greenyard can help its customers expand and diversify their offering, introduce new concepts and rapidly respond to ever-changing consumer trends.
Consumers expect to buy fruit and vegetables at the time, place and price that suit their lifestyle, schedule and budget. Greenyard uses its worldwide network of growers and its flexible logistics to match supply with demand, delivering the right quality in the right amount at the right moment.

Transforming for a healthier future Greenyard’s Transformation Plan enables our company to accelerate the implementation of our vision, adapt our organisation to changing market conditions and improve our 3 pillars: commercial, operational and financial health.
Commercial health
Operational health

Moving closer to our customers Greenyard is moving away from a purely transactional business model in which price is the only distinguishing factor. Greenyard is further developing and implementing long-term partnerships with its customers in which added value is created for both partners. It is a model that has already proved successful for some of our key customers and which we are now implementing at international retailers. The move will create customer intimate relationships and enable us to grow our market position together with our customers.
Leveraging our footprint Over the years, Greenyard has built a strong organisation, sourcing fresh fruit and vegetables from a world-wide network of growers and supplying Top 20 EU retailers. Additionally, we have built up considerable expertise in packaging, logistics and product innovation. By focusing on our core activities, our aim is to create a leaner and stronger organisation and fully leverage our footprint for future profitable growth. Optimisations and economies of scale are being explored in all of our processes, such as sourcing and procurement.
Strong focus on core activities Greenyard is strengthening its financial position with a clear focus on reducing debt levels and improving EBITDA. Divestments in assets that are no longer essential and weigh on our cost structure will optimise our cash position in the short term and optimise management focus on the right operations and assets.

Sustainability at Greenyard in 2019: Our impact at a glance! At Greenyard, we strive to source fruit and vegetables in the most sustainable way and bring them across the value chain up to the end consumer with a minimal environmental impact and waste. Consumers and retailers are increasingly convinced of the need to reduce the environmental impact of their food, as evidenced lately by the debate on plastic packaging. Every day, together with our customers and suppliers, we are taking steps to improve and ultimately grow consumption of fruits and vegetables for a healthier future. Our efforts are guided by our sustainability framework which focuses on promoting people’s well-being, responsible use of resources, assuring food availability, stimulating sustainable trade and strengthening collaboration in the chain.
