Risk Assessment A risk assessment is basically a walk around your business looking for hazards, then after finding what essentially is everything that could possibly cause some harm, applying a logical scoring system based on likelihood and severity to evaluate the level of risk. Philip & Son’s consultant’s use two tried and tested techniques to evaluate risk, a quantative method mentioned above and another hazard rating system which will clearly outline the level or risk you and your employees could be exposed to. Whatever system we use, we always use a five step process for all risk assessment, these five steps are: 1. Identify the Hazard 2. Identify who is at risk 3. Evaluate the Risk 4. Develop control measures 5. Provide a written record of our findings. Our consultants will also look at previous history, examine accident records and ask as many questions as they can to employees and management. From our experience the more information we can gather the more appropriately we can evaluate your risks; we also find that sometimes your employees may very well have a good suggestion to control certain risks. All risk assessment are then followed by a comprehensive report outlining all the hazards we found, how we rated them (level of risk) and our suggestions on how to control and reduce your risk. Our control measures are often simple steps to implement, designed to include all staff and encourage them to work safely. If you require training to minimise or control your risk, we can advise on this as well. Any training we can provide will be tailored to suit your business and help inform your staff. The emphasis at all times from our safety team is risk reduction. We aim to offer practical advice and logical suggestions which will help lower risk and reduce accidents. All of our consultants are highly qualified, practical people with one goal in mind - to make your business a safer place to work.

Sudden cardiac arrest (SCA), the leading cause of death in USA and Europe, is the condition in which the heart is no longer able to pump blood to the brain and other organs, because of an electrical problem resulting in a fatal arrhythmia in heart. Most of the time, heart becomes chaotic (ventricular fibrillation, VF) or rapid (ventricular tachycardia, VT). SCA can strike any person, anywhere, anytime. In most cases, there are no previous symptoms. When someone collapses from SCA, immediate defibrillation and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) are essential for any chance of recovery. Immediate treatment is critical for SCA victims since survival chance decreases about 10% with every minute without defibrillation. Authorities agree that defibrillation should be provided as early as possible, preferably within first three to five minutes. Even with the fastest emergency medical service system, the professionals may not be able to reach the victim in time. This results in the necessity of the lifesaving defibrillation to be performed at incident scene within first minutes and by any responder.

So why choose Cardiaid AED  Easy to use / simply open the Lid to turn on.  Pre Connected Pads.  Response Kit inside the lid.  ‘i’ Button for a Verbal prompt when Paramedics arrive.  Suitable for adult or young patients over 20 kgs.  Efficient electroshock therapy using an escalating biphasic waveform.  CPR with metronomic prompts to help maximise rescuer efficiency.  Event storage to internal memory downloadable via Bluetooth.  Automatic self-test: daily, monthly and when the device is switched on.  5 million Euro Product Liability Insurance.  Free service if used on a Cardiac Arrest Victim.  6 Year warranty. **Conditional on servicing every 2 years.

Philip & Son Training Consultants Limited is now offering the brand new Defibrillator brand CARDIAID. This Defibrillator is designed to make life-saving defibrillation possible for everybody, accessible everywhere.

The i-PAD NF1200 is a semi-automated external defibrillator (also known as an AED). The i-PAD NF1200 is designed for minimally trained individuals. It provides simple and direct voice prompts and instructions for straightforward rescue operation. It is lightweight and battery powered for maximum portability. The i-PAD NF1200 is intended to treat Ventricular Fibrillation (VF) and Fast Ventricular Tachycardia. These two conditions are the most common causes of sudden cardiac arrest (SCA). In SCA, the heart of the victim suddenly stops pumping. This condition may occur suddenly to any age group without warning. The only effective treatment for SCA is the application of a defibrillating shock. Indications for Use Use the i-PAD to treat a person that you think is suffering from sudden cardiac arrest (SCA). The following are symptoms of SCA : - No movement and no response when shaken - No normal breathing - No pulse
