For nearly 30 years, Snaidero USA has created custom cabinetry for the luxury housing market, but none quite compare to their newest crown jewel, Chicago’s Residences at the St. Regis.

Standing tall at 101 fl oors, the Residences at St. Regis clocks in as Chicago’s third-tallest city skyscraper with 393 units, but for Snaidero USA, it’s just another day at the offi ce.

“We have provided cabinetry for several projects of this scale over the past almost 30 years,” says Snaidero USA president, Dario Snaidero, recalling their largest project to date, the Signature at MGM, Las Vegas, with a whopping 1,728 units. But nerves? He hasn’t heard of them. “Just a lot of excitement and pride for being selected for such a highcaliber project,” he says. “That’s a result of the high quality and service-centered reputation we have built in the industry.” Designed by Jeanne Gang of Studio Gang, the St. Regis also makes history as the world’s tallest building designed by a team of women architects and designers.

The St. Regis is the 22nd luxury high-rise development that Snaidero USA has helped produce in Chicago, in partnership with their local atelier, Studio Snaidero Chicago. Designed by award-winning architect, Jeanne Gang of Studio Gang, the St. Regis’ bright, shimmering crystalline form was inspired by a sparkling gemstone refl ecting light.

For the more than 370 kitchens and 1,000 bath and powder rooms, among many other spaces, Snaidero USA fashioned cabinetry with custom fi nishes that extend Gang’s glistening gemstone inspiration into each of the residences, in collaboration with Hirsch Bedner Associates, the design team responsible for the interiors.

“For the cabinetry fi nishes, we were asked to create custom designs that would fi t with the project’s geminspired theme, featuring four distinct palettes drawing from the beauty of natural crystals,” says Snaidero.

“It is a very modern design with effortless functional details and clean aesthetics,” while simultaneously shedding “any unnecessary decorative accents” in order to keep and highlight the “essential features and create continuity between the different elements.”

And it’s precisely this minimalism that allows for “the materials to take center stage and defi ne the personality of the space,” says Snaidero.

“These characteristics make it a very versatile cabinetry line...So, it’s no surprise that it is the choice for many residential and multi-housing projects where the goal is to achieve a bespoke modern look.” ■

Each of the 370 kitchens in the St. Regis feature a sense of calming continuity, from the co ee-colored hue to the crisp lines of the countertop and cabinetry.
