OUR CHOICES Our laboratories have always created products following precise ecological and health parameters. Here in detail are the ingredients we have chosen not to use:

SYNTHETIC COLOURANTS FREE

ALLERGEN FREE FRAGRANCES

With the exception of some products (Incolor Anti-yellow Shampoo and the Blonde line) and of the Incolor, Pigments and Incolor Man dyes where such ingredients are essential to carry out the task the product is intended for, all INSIGHT products are free of synthetic dyes.

We chose to use only fragrances without allergens, so that our treatments are as gentle as possible even on the most sensitive scalp. The Cosmos Natural products are an exception: indeed, the certification standard provides for the use of 100% natural fragrances, which contain allergens due to their natural derivation.

SLS/SLES FREE

SILICONES FREE

All of our shampoos are formulated without SLS and SLES (Sodium Lauryl Sulfate and Sodium Laureth Sulfate), which are considered aggressive and potentially irritating surfactants. We have chosen to replace them with SODIUM COCETH SULFATE, derived from coconut. Using a more dermo-compatible cleansing product means protecting scalp health and balance over time.

Silicones are inorganic polymers derived from silicon through chemical synthesis processes. Although it’s true that they give immediate softness and shine to hair thanks to their film-forming effect, they prevent the penetration of the active ingredients by occluding the scales of the cuticle. Where possible, we have eliminated them from our formulations, replacing them with naturally derived oils or extracts featuring protective and moisturising properties.

PARABENS AND MIT FREE

MINERAL OILS AND PETROLATUM FREE

Parabens and MITs are preservatives that have become the subject of controversy, although scientific research has not yet taken a definitive stance. While awaiting a response that dispels all doubt, we decided to use some alternative preservative systems. In particular, we use a biodegradable mixture of fruit acids for all our shampoos: Sodium Benzoate and Potassium Sorbate. Masks and conditioners instead contain a preservative mixture composed of Benzyl Alcohol and a softening agent of natural origin, Glyceryl Laurate.

Petrolatum (Paraffinum liquidum) is a refined petroleum product with film-forming properties. Due to their huge impact on the environment, we opted to replace it, where possible, with naturally derived ingredients with the same properties, but fewer unknowns to health and environment.

OUR PLUS All our products have some characteristics in common, which make them unique:

OZONATED WATER Water is the key ingredient in our products, as well as being a carrier of the functional active ingredients and extracts of the formulas. It is for this reason that we have been treating production water with ozone for years as this, a molecule made up of three atoms of oxygen, is a valid alternative to traditional agents such as chlorine and its compounds. Indeed, compared to them ozone has higher oxidising power, making it effective against a wider range of bacteria. At low concentration levels ozone is non-toxic and returns to its original form (oxygen) in a short time, without leaving residues. Its use also guarantees rapid, safe, deep-down and completely ecological sanitation, making the water microbiologically pure, in the ideal conditions to actively incorporate functional principles.

NICKEL TESTED To guarantee greater safety in case of skin hypersensitivity, Insight products are nickel tested. The maximum limit of nickel contained in the formula is shown on the label.

100% MADE IN ITALY We like to emphasise our 100% Italian knowhow: product quality is guaranteed, from the lab until delivery, in over 50 countries worldwide. A value that is a mark of distinction, perfection and style.

HIGH PERCENTAGE OF NATURALITY Our formulas contain a high percentage of natural derived ingredients. On average, more than 96% of the total formula is composed of raw materials of natural origin.

VEGAN OK CERTIFICATION The entire INSIGHT hair line is VEGAN OK certified, including the Incolor colouring lines (Incolor Man and Pigments) and Intech, Blonde Rebuild and Native lines. This standard was established to foster the dissemination of a culture of respect for life and the environment, so that such values can be a common heritage for all. Buying a product bearing the VEGAN OK logo on the label, the consumer implicitly receives a guarantee from the manufacturer that the product does not contain animal components and so it did not involve exploitation and killing of animals. This guarantee does not only concern the formulas but it also extends to all components of the finished product (labels, bottles, jars, etc.).

PHYTO AND ORGANIC EXTRACTS The main functional active ingredients of our formulations are derived from organic agriculture, from certified crops. These extracts work together with combinations of naturally derived oils and butters, selected according to the aim of the different product lines. Selecting organic active ingredients means safeguarding the planet, protecting the workers who are part of the production chain and protecting the well-being of the final consumers.

OUR PACKAGING The eco-sustainability of the Insight project starts from the formulas but extends to the world of packaging, which is made with recycled materials or with plant-derived additives.

BOTTLES AND JARS IN 100% RECYCLED PET PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate) is a lightweight and durable polyester which possesses an excellent profile from the viewpoint of environmental sustainability thanks to its infinite recycling possibilities. Indeed, it is part of the family of thermoplastics, which during their life cycle can be subjected to heat-induced remodeling processes several times. This feature makes PET fully recyclable, and makes it easy to transform it into rPET. Indeed, all bottles and jars of the different INSIGHT lines are made with 100% post-consumer recycled PET. WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO USE RECYCLED PET? • protect the environment; • reduce carbon dioxide emissions: for every kg of recycled PET! • save energy: by manufacturing products from recycled PET. LABELS: RECYCLED PET AND RAFCYCLE® All labels of Insight products in bottles or jars are made of a material that has a minimum content of 25% recycled PET resin. RAFCYCLE® The transformation of waste into resources is a key concept of circular economy, and it is an important element in approaching sustainability. We joined the RafCycle® project, a programme developed for the recovery and valorisation of scraps of labels throughout their life cycle. This is an innovative recycling concept based on the reuse of scraps generated from adhesive labels to create new materials. RafCycle® recovers the byproducts of adhesive labels, destined for incineration or disposal in landfills, and transforms them, giving them a “new lease on life”. It also reduces the amount of waste to be disposed of in landfills and offers countless advantages to printers, packagers and other operators in the label sector and, of course, to the environment. Processing waste from labels - scraps and matrices - are recovered and destined for waste-to-energy conversion at the UPM paper mills and used as fuel. Thanks to a technologically advanced process, siliconised backing paper is recovered and sent for recycling at the paper mill to be transformed into new cellulose that will become new paper.

Let’s talk about the first type: ELEY is ISO 9001, ISO 22716, and ISO 14064 certified. ISO 9001 (Quality System) The goal of an ISO 9001 quality system is to ensure that the product supplied by the company complies with the specified requirements. The company therefore must prove that it is able to respond consistently and comprehensively to customer expectations and to achieve significant improvements in terms of organizational efficiency and product quality by minimizing waste, avoiding errors, and increasing productivity. The requirements of this standard apply to all business processes, which must be documented through specific forms (quality manual, procedures, operating instructions). ISO 22716 (GMP - Good Manufacturing Practice) The UNI EN ISO 22716 regulation defines the guidelines for the production, control, storage

and shipment of cosmetic products with the aim to guarantee to the customer high standards of safety and sanitation. GMP is therefore a set of rules that describe the methods, equipment, the means of production and management to ensure the appropriate quality standards. They have as their object both the production and the quality control, are applicable to all kind of cosmetic products and take into account all the factors and activities that are relevant for obtaining a cosmetic product. ISO 14064 - Carbon Footprint The ISO 14064 standard certifies the company’s environmental footprint, allowing a monitoring process of the Greenhouse Gases that normally all industrial plants emit (as well as living beings). This also allows the implementation or cancellation of reduction projects, especially in emerging countries. These certifications are part of a methodological path that we have undertaken some years ago, wanting to prove our commitment and responsibility towards both our customers and the planet. In addition to the company certifications, we have chosen to certify some INSIGHT products according to ICEA ECO BIO COSMESI and COSMOS NATURAL standards. ANTIOXIDANT Protection and hydration are two common needs for hair exposed to weather elements or sunlight. Smoothing System Cleanse hair with the Pre-treatment Shampoo, then rinse. Dry hair, until 50 to 70% of water is removed. Apply the Dermal Protector on nape, face contour and neck. Shake the Smoothing Treatment before use, pour it into a plastic bowl and apply it over the entire head, lock by lock, with the help of a wide-tooth comb. Do not apply on scalp, but leave 0.5 cm from the root. Leave on for about 30 minutes, remove any excess product with a towel, then dry hair with a hair dryer, without rinsing. Straightening System Pour the Straightening Cream into a plastic bowl. Wash, comb and divide the hair into 4 sections. Apply the Dermal Protector on neck and face contour, then start the application from the nape. For natural curls, take 1 cm locks. In case of permed hair, take larger locks and apply the product quickly. Evenly apply the Straightening Cream over the entire head, though not directly on the scalp, but leaving 0.5 cm from the root. After you applied the product on the first hair section, thoroughly comb with a wide-tooth comb, exerting sufficient pressure to stretch and smoothen hair. CERTIFIED ORGANIC EXTRACTS AND OILS

PLANT - DERIVED GLYCERINE It stands out due to its moisturising property, protecting the skin from drying out. Moreover, inside a cosmetic product, glycerine is able to convey active ingredients, enhancing their beneficial effects on the skin. It is a very gentle, entirely non-irritating substance. SKIN-FRIENDLY THICKENERS Completely plant-derived (e.g. Coconut Oil, Corn Starch), these ingredients reduce any irritations caused by the cleansing action. They also enhance the formula’s moisturising properties. GENTLE EMOLLIENT AGENTS Like the above ingredients, these are also plant-derived. They boost the nourishing and silk- like effect of the formulas, improving their sensation on the skin.

In all our formulations we use oils and extracts from organic farming, coming from certified crops, which do not use GMOs, pesticides or other chemical agents harmful to health and to the environment. NON-ETHOXYLATED SURFACTANTS Of natural origin, mainly from Coconut Oil, these surfactants are easily biodegradable and highly compatible with the skin, whilst maintaining a balanced cleansing power. They respect even the most sensitive skin, protecting its health and its hydro-lipid film.
