Grey’t Ideas Weekly 02.08.2013
The sound of Honda No doubt Honda is one of our best advertising brands if we think of interesting, coherent and consequent communication. „Power of Dreams” is doing great.
Few decades ago Ayrton Senna broke speed world record on Japanese Suzuka track. Honda celebrates this event by recreating the race using that car’s sound. It is possible, since the race was also the first to use telemetrics – meaning a system that gathers car’s data. Enjoy.

Mower from Honda Honda is not only about cars and bikes. Honda means solid engines that can be found in many different devices. Such as a mower, for example. Mistaken is anyone who ever thought that mowing the lawn is boring. In the latest Honda ad we can see it as total, real fun, especially for a man.

Where for a beer? A trend for special, crafted local beer is still growing, as people are looking for something new. In US we have special application that lets people share info about local beer experience (link).
Little dots are breweries that were created after 2012. These are local and home breweries where original and unique beer can be found. The number of dots is rapidly growing, coverage is complete enough to plan nice „beer trip. Editors of Wired magazine did this: from New York to Los Angeles, and here they share insights.
Nuclear power plant tour
Thanks to Michael Danner (and Wired Raw File blog) we can look into 17 nuclear power plants in Germany. Critical Mass, a photo initiative is a documentation of nuclear sites build in 70s an 80s in Germany. Author clashes atmosphere of protests that accompanied the opening (actually, accompanies until now) with what’s there today – for example the tranquility of the interior, surroundings. Source
[For those interested in power plants – nice article on the subject of nuclear divers: http://www.popsci.com/science/article/2012-03/swimming-hot-side?page=all]
Leftover swap It’s one of strangest things we saw this week. LeftoverSwap is a social network for people, who want to share leftovers left on plate.
Let’s say we eat pizza and that last piece lefts. Thanks to the app, we can take a picture of it, upload to app’s database, other members of the network can locate the piece and submit a pickup. Sounds funny, but has real sense in one of the most obese nations in the world – USA. Project is due to launch at the end of August. Source
Mega trailer How many times did we go to the cinema because of remarkable trailer? How many times the movie was crap, actually? Movie trailers are kind of an art. It’s a conglomerate of the best scenes and effects from movie that need to encourage viewer to go a spend the money. Good trailer is the best advert for film. Unfortunately sometimes it can be misleading. For many people trailer to Drive movie with Ryan Gosling is number one example for such practice. Recently in web we can watch hypermega trailer (6:10) with the best cuts from 99 other trailers (link). Enjoy this enormous dose of action.

last idea\\ jump for shoes Super easy and enjoyable ambient-contest for sport store opening in London. Contestants were asked to jump as basketball players to win Derrick Rose’s snickers placed 10 feet above them. Quite impressive video.
