Grey’t Ideas weekly 11.09.2014
New iPhones This week we had a chance to see the latest Apples’ products and their new ads. There is no need to dwell on the devices that where shown to the audience and whether trousers’ manufacturers must make bigger pockets for new iPhone, because you probably read all about it. What we want to present is new iPhone ad, featuring voices (and probably hands) of Jimmy Fallon & Justin Timberlake. They can guarantee a lots of views (e.g. hashtag).
The spots come out correctly, but not extraordinary. We are waiting for Samsung’s response, which has quite rightly ridiculed its largest competitor.

For the food lovers If you work around the kitchen, you’ve probably noticed that for the last decade the visual side of cooking has greatly improved. If this goes even further we will be like Japanese, eating with our eyes. So far, the unquestionable leader of food beauty shoots was Lurpak (if you don’t know it, check this out). But now they have a competitor. Marks&Spencer, English supermarket chain, is going for Lurpak with its very neat new ads. Does it mean that this is becoming a standard for everyone? Full spot: http://youtu.be/PZ4pctQMdg4 Additional: http://youtu.be/yBncXEDLL7Y http://youtu.be/xx9YWxaTFnk We are not worse, and we do our fair share of porn food for Freshmarket, polish convenient store: http://youtu.be/fbIph1BBeuA
Who You Live For? Certainly not for yourself. MetLife in the latest campaign asked "random" passers-by what drives them in life.
Random or not it is quite an interesting campaign that will surely reach its goals (which are – to sell more life insurance of course). This campaign reminds people what is most relevant for them and that it should to be protected. And what is most important to people? Of course, their loved ones, so you should insure yourself and your closest ones because what if something happen to them?

Christmas in September Last year Kmart, American supermarket chain, ridiculed itself by going for the Christmas commercials too early. This year they decided to go even further.
They don’t want to wait till December. On the contrary – they are releasing new campaign now. But to be clear – THIS IS NOT a Christmas commercial. This is just an ordinary campaign for anything happening in December. Like for example: all your family has Birthdays then. You might want to get them some presents now. And visit Kmart: http://youtu.be/lNRcg5NRaXs
A few shades of dark
To be honest, we thought that you can meet Goths only at Castle Party in Bolkowo or Wave Gotik Treffen in Leipzig, but it turns out one can make ads for them and featuring them. We are diehard fans of Hornbach, German DIY store, and their ads (especially this activation). That’s why we couldn’t miss their latest campaign entitled: „Say it with your project”. The first spot tells a story of a goth teenager and her loving father. Check it out: http://youtu.be/LGV35i-gGnE
But that’s not all for the darkness’ lovers. If you have some spare change, you can go to Japan (where else would you want to go). Burger King in Japan has just released a new line of dark burgers (might as well be called „Goth burgers”). The bun and cheese is died with bamboo charcoal and sauce with squid ink.
last idea// ratcopter After your beloved pet dies you can grant it an eternal peace simply by burying it in the shoebox in the garden. But one Dutch boy decided to ensure his deceased rodent gets his place in the history of aviation. Even post-mortem.
