Dear Friends Welcome to Bible by the Beach 2015! As you can see from the programme there are lots of things happening and lots to enjoy and benefit from! There is a packed programme in which the Bible Readings are central. Please prayerfully make the most of the weekend leaving time for fellowship and fun, and seek God’s blessing not only for yourself but for everyone who comes and the churches they come from. If you enjoy the weekend and are helped by it tell your friends and bring more next year! God ‘s heart is for mission, and ours needs to be the same. God’s purpose in mission is to save a people for His glory and their blessing is thankfully unstoppable! Are we in tune with Him, and seeking to advance His Kingdom?that’s the way of joy and blessing! Thanks so much for being with us. As ever in His love,

OUR SPEAKERS
RICHARD PRATT / BIBLE READINGS Richard is an American theologian, author and founding President of Third Millennium Ministries—launched in response to the lack of training of Christian leaders around the world. It recognises that, where the church is growing the fastest, Christian leaders have the least amount of training. Helping the church worldwide is his passion and he believes that any person that has the desire to learn about the Bible should be given that opportunity in their own land, in their own language, and at no cost. He is a prolific writer and his books include Pray with Your Eyes Open, Designed for Dignity, and He Gave Us Stories.
REBECCA MANLEY PIPPERT / SATURDAY LUNCHTIME TALK & SEMINAR SPEAKER Becky is recognized internationally as a speaker and author, and is founder of Salt Shaker Ministries: a teaching/training ministry in evangelism. She is the author of nine books and has been described as one of the “liveliest and most effective communicators of the gospel in the world today”. She is married with two grown up children.
ANDY HAWTHORNE / SATURDAY EVENING CELEBRATION & SEMINAR SPEAKER Andy is a speaker at events and conferences around the world and has addressed the UK and Scottish Parliaments on the transformative power of the gospel of Jesus. He is also the author of seven books including Hope Unleashed and The Smile of God. He was awarded the OBE in 2011 in recognition for his services to young people. Andy is married to Michele and together they have two children, Sam and Beth. He makes his home in Manchester.
TIM WARD / SEMINAR SPEAKER

Tim works for The Proclamation Trust, teaching at the Cornhill Training Course in London. Before that he was a church pastor in the Midlands. He is married to Erica and they have a son.
Ken is the Senior Minister of Chichester Baptist Church and an Associate Speaker for the London Institute for Contemporary Christianity. John Stott founded LICC in 1982 to envision and equip Christians and their churches for whole-life missionary discipleship in the world.
UNSTOPPABLE ROGER CARSWELL / SUNDAY EVENING CELEBRATION & SEMINAR SPEAKER Roger is a travelling evangelist and author. He leads evangelistic church and university missions as well as speaking at Christian conferences. He has written eleven books including And some evangelists and Where is God in a messed up world?, and publishes numerous gospel tracts and booklets. Andy also leads the sung worship at conferences including London Men’s and Women’s Conventions, Word Alive, Keswick and more.
CARRIE SANDOM / SEMINAR SPEAKER

In our time together, we will focus our attention on how the Scriptures call us to engage the world around us in the strength of Christ. We will see that our devotion to reaching the lost for Christ and growing in our service to him is essential to being a follower of Jesus.

SATURDAY 09.30 / CONGRESS THEATRE / PART 1 SATURDAY 14.45 / CONGRESS THEATRE / PART 2
SATURDAY 16.45 / CONGRESS THEATRE / PART 1 SUNDAY 13.30 / CONGRESS THEATRE / PART 2
We will examine how we can make every day of eternal significance by turning inconsequential chatter into opportunities to speak about the Lord Jesus and share the gospel. Evangelism as a lifestyle need not be intimidating but a great joy.
PART 1 Say the word ‘evangelism’ and most Christians think this means memorizing techniques to be used on unsuspecting victims! But techniques do not motivate us at a deeper level. Nor are they effective in building authentic relationships. In this Seminar we will explore the Incarnation as our theological foundation for evangelism. This will help the nonevangelists, those who feel they are “rubbish” at evangelism, to develop a greater sense of freedom in living and sharing the Good News. We will also explore how our common fears need not hinder us.
HANDLING THE WORD OF GOD TIM WARD SATURDAY 09.30 / FLORAL HALL / PART 1 SATURDAY 14.45 / FLORAL HALL / PART 2 What is the Bible, and how do we handle it faithfully and effectively? Two seminars of principles for anyone involved in Bible-teaching ministry. BEYOND REACH GRAHAM MILLER SATURDAY 09.30 / COLLEGE CHAPEL / PART 1 SATURDAY 14.45 / COLLEGE CHAPEL / PART 2 The Great Commission sends the Church to Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and the ends of the Earth. What will it take to reach the ‘Samaritans’; the poor, the immigrants, and marginalised who live near us but are so culturally different that we feel they are beyond the reach of our evangelistic efforts.
PART 2 This session will build on the topics from Part 1 but we will also address the effectiveness of ‘Seeker Bible Study’ (SBS) in reaching today’s seeker and why SBS has been so effective in reaching skeptics in the UK and Europe. Plus we’ll explore how the church can effectively follow up with new converts and help growing Christians deepen their faith. While not mandatory, it would be helpful if you bring a copy of Becky Pippert’s Seeker Bible Study guide, Uncovering The Life of Jesus, to this session. It can be purchased at the Book table.

Jesus looked at a great city and wept because the people in it were like sheep without a shepherd. 2000 years later God wants to give his people a similar heart for our great urban conurbations. The Message Trust in Manchester are having real success in seeing transformation in these very tough communities. Come and hear the Bible imperative, plus stories from the frontline.
Evangelism is not about a sales pitch, it’s about sharing the One we love. In this seminar we will centre ourselves again on the truth, goodness and power of the gospel - learning how to speak for Christ in our daily lives.
The Apostle Paul actively encouraged women to be involved in the teaching and discipling of other women so that the word of God is not maligned (Titus 2:5). But what should this teaching and discipling look like and who should be involved in it? And how can we encourage women to teach and serve the local church without undermining the need for male leadership?

Discover God’s passion for his world; explore the features of God’s 21st Century world; investigate how to understand the cultures around us; think about how to communicate the gospel to people of other cultures and pray for them.
P1 ‘Key Lessons for Today.’ What does being a fruitful disciple actually look like throughout the working week? As we seek to apply the truths of the Unstoppable Mission of God to the reality of our working week, are there some practical lessons that can help us? P2 - ‘Key Issues for Tomorrow.’ What are the key issues we face as we seek to live as whole-life missionary disciples wherever we find ourselves tomorrow? Ken’s two talks are complementary but they stand-alone, if you are only able to attend one.
The Cross: Our Foundation for Evangelism 2 Cor 5: 14-21 Jesus offers transformation, nothing less. But in order to experience the mystery and the miracle of the transformation that Christ offers —we must face the mess. Why does understanding the Cross blow open the doors of evangelism and set us free to love the unlovely? The very ones whom we thought we had nothing in common?”

Speaking of Jesus Christ in public life In recent years there has been increasing pressure on Christians to “leave their faith at the door” when it comes to taking part in public life.
At Christian Concern we work hard to ensure that Jesus’ name continues to be heard in our nation. We speak of Him in the courts, in the media and to government. To find out how you can receive up-to-date information on issues affecting our nation and resources to enable you to take action, come and visit our stall and speak to members of our team.
