This year the Children’s Holiday Celebration will be held at the Kiwanis Island Pavilion, Merritt Island on December 21st. from 4-7 pm (please note time change). We have games, crafts and pictures with Santa planned. Santa will be providing the children with a small gift – you will NOT need to bring a wrapped gift. This will make it fair for all children attending.
HOLIDAY DINNERS The Brevard Sharing Center is assisting us with Thanksgiving Dinners. If you are interested in receiving this gift please contact the office as soon as possible. First come, first served. The dinners consist of a turkey, dressing, canned goods (pumpkin, green beans, cranberry sauce), and mashed potatoes. Call the GRG office 321631-7776 as soon as possible.

PARENTING TIP By: Richard Patzke Express Unconditional Love When we show affection to young people, we give them a sense of love-ability. Expressing affection to our kids communicates that they are worth loving. There are three excellent ways you can share affection to your grandchildren.
Being affectionate to one another as husband and wife, or anyone you love within your family. Express affection verbally to your grandkids. Demonstrate affection physically to your grandkids.
Every expression of care and closeness provides emotional reinforcement, helping kids realize that they are loved.
ATTENTION MEMBERS This is a special request to all grandparents raising their grandchildren. Please try to attend our support group meetings. We have speakers with very helpful information and hope that you will consider coming to these events. If we have assisted you in anyway, please come and share how we have helped you and tell us how this assistance has provided much needed information to help you in the rearing of your grandchildren. If you have a great story or news about your grandchild please let us know; we would love to publish it in our newsletter. Older children are welcome to submit stories, photos or poetry. Please email grg.brevard@gmail.com
