Jayne Johnson Accounts Manager
There is a notable bias towards pre-press personnel within the business which is not coincidental as both directors have a pre-press background.
Similarly Jayne has also been a big hitter in the print market, although she would not appreciate an indication of the number of years. Her role has been not solely UK orientated but account handling all over Europe and Scandinavia. Having accrued sufficient airmiles she has elected for a position closer to home. Those of you wishing to practice your French please feel free to call Jayne on the company chat line!
We are at the forefront of new technology, our inspiration for colour and colour management within the pre-press areas, sets the standards throughout the business. The mindset of pre-press personnel is one of constant technological change, tight deadlines, arduous hours, an eye for detail, and good knowledge of all processes within the company. It is from here operators are groomed for management roles within the company.

Six Colour and Aqueous Coating Jayne Johnson
Matt Huffinley
In October the company ordered a brand new six colour press with aqueous coating. Installation is anticipated in March. The additional colours and in particular, aqueous coating will enhance the look and feel of the product. The new press will increase the thickness of stock from 600 micron to 1,000 micron. This is only part of the story, technology has advanced in leaps and bounds through communication from the management information system, and repro directly to the press. By the time the job arrives at the press, it is already aware of ink settings, dampening settings, thickness and size of paper, in fact once the plates are loaded it’s ready to run! A spectrophotometer is included with the press, it will identify any movement in colour
on a job and immediately compensate and record any changes. The press runs at a stunning 16,000 impressions per hour, a 50% improvement on the press it replaces! The new press will offer better colour more consistently and efficiently. As part of our environmental commitment through ISO 14001, the press will run free from alcohol.
