Integral elements: Pattern forms an integral part of my designs, and often patterns and colour I feel inspired by inform my designs. I am influenced by the design I like, for instance, the design of the 50’s, which appears in different ways.
5. Bistro style cafe offering table service.

Success: I consider one my strengths, is my use of imagery. I enjoy manipulating photos, and also love flamboyant photograpghy, this features heavily in my work. Along with my passion for typography, which I want to explore further. Personality: On reflection, the nature of the brief is my first consideration. What does the client want, then how does this inform my design, which is what I find really interesting. I really want to continue working with people from all walks of life.

Project 1: Garden Club London The Brief: To visualise and create a visual identity for a young garden designer based in London. The brief came from a garden designer in London, who I knew from my past life, working as a chef. He wanted a funky yet classy icon that would appeal to the ‘yummy mummy’ gardeners with considerable disposable income.

Project 2: Obamacization The Brief: To design my dissertation into coherent and contemporary piece of print. The brief came from my exploration into the branding of Barack Obama’s 2008 presidential election. I wanted it to appreal to a younger generation, who may take an interest in politics as well as graphic design.

The Brief: To design an identity for a Cumbrian Fayre and woodfired cafe held at the Brunswick Yard, Penrith. The brief came from a joint venture into promoting Cumbrian produce. Held at the Brunswick Yard, an antiques and salvage centre in Penrith. The identity required quirky imagery, which was fun and exciting. To keep printing costs down we chose two colours and 100% recycled stock. The target market were people with an expendable income, who enjoy local produce.
