Usage Consistent color usage is vital to the Grizzly Athletics brand. The official colors of the Georgia Gwinnett Grizzlies are Green and Gray. The accent color is a Gold that appears in the G-Claw, sometimes referred to as “Vegas Gold. This accent color may only be used in proportion to the main colors and should never be used in place of them. The Brown color should only be used in the Bear Head logo. These color specifications should never be altered. Due to the inconsistent nature of computer monitors and various applications, always refer to the Pantone number for accurate color reproduction.

III. LOGOS AND USAGE

ÂŽ The G-Claw The primary logo for Grizzly Athletics at Georgia Gwinnett College is the full-color G-Claw. The logo represents the championship standards upon which the Grizzly programs have been built. The G-Claw must be used in a bold, consistent manner to further strengthen the Grizzly Athletics brand and represent proper usage.

Registration All marks are registered property. Any usage outside the Office of Athletics requires that the designated registration marks, such as the circle R, be included.

® Sizing & Spacing of the G-Claw Appropriate sizing and spacing around the G-Claw are also paramount. Ample spacing should be kept around the mark to minimize interference and maximize brand strength. The Clear Zone space (represented by “CZ” above and below) necessary when using the G-Claw is equal to the height of the top white portion of the letter G within the mark. This space- at a minimum- must extend outward in all directions, free from any adjacent text, design or images. Any exceptions must be approved by the Office of Athletics.

LOGOS Secondary Logos There are two secondary logos for Grizzly Athletics, the Georgia Gwinnett Grizzlies Script and the Forward-Facing Bear Head. They must also be utilized with color and clear zone restrictions like the G-Claw. The Bear Head must be used as a complement to the G-Claw and Script logos, rather than as a substitute.

ViiI. TERMINOLOGY AND MASCOT

Who is a Grizzly? Georgia Gwinnett College utilizes the term “Grizzlies” to broadly refer to all members of the GGC community, as opposed to just its intercollegiate athletes. This characterization refers to all GGC students, faculty and staff members. The Office of Athletics supports this broad usage, as it is consistent with the larger sense of community that collective branding efforts attempt to foster.

Mascot The official mascot at Georgia Gwinnett College is “General Grizzly”. In order to strengthen both the Grizzly Athletics brand and the larger branding efforts of the College, effective 2017, the Office of Athletics furnished General Grizzly with updated athletic-style apparel, appropriate for the sports in which GGC competes at the intercollegiate level. General Grizzly is utilized by the college not only at Athletics contests, but also for GGC events such as on-campus cermonies, student-life functions and other sanctioned events. Further, the mascot may appear in the local community as part of outreach efforts, where the same branding and uniform standards apply.
