ABOUT ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF COUNTRY
QUT acknowledges the Turrbai and Yugara, as the First Nations custodians` of the lands where QUT now stands. We pay respects to their elders, customs and creation spirits. We recognise that these lands have always been places of teaching, research and learning. QUT acknowledges the important role Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people play within the QUT community. SENTIENCE Sentience is all-encompassing, it is both conscious and unconscious. The Sentience program explores these notions in relation to performance and digital technology through four different lenses: Animality, Machinic Sense and Sensibility, Politics of Sentience, and Matters Mattering.
ABOUT Politics of Sentience explores themes of weaponised surveillance and the degradation of trust between images and audiences through falsified realities. Concerns of a post-truth world continue to grow alongside the increasing polarisation and volatility between political groups. The work presents a speculative future into which identity is completely obliterated as the physical and digital self-converge, combining performance with video art and computergenerated technologies.

POLITICS OF SENTIENCE
ABOUT Machinic Sense & Sensibility aims to bring an interactive experience to audiences that explores the relationship between humans and machines specifically AI. Inspired by the Turing Test, a theoretical means of measuring if a computer could accurately imitate a human, the work blends live performance with digital technology to create an immersive experience with an AI of their own.

MACHINIC SENSE & SENSABILITY
ABOUT Matters Mattering is a fully immersive installation piece that allows audience members to manipulate sound and movement through materiality. We were inspired by notions of play and curiosity, much like we experience throughout childhood, often lost during adulthood. With Matters Mattering, we want to bring the audience back to that state of exploration and excitement. Through the combination of physical matter and sound, we are able to manipulate movement, generating a variety of experiences and events.

MATTERS MATTERING
ABOUT Animality focuses on the evolution of sentience in natural form. The work aims to take the audience on a transformative journey of the familiar 'human state', delving into the unknown of animal, plant, particle, and technology. The work attempts to evoke audience awareness amongst oneself, probing an emotional encounter as a sentient being. Animality presents this unfamiliar state through the culmination of visual depictions alongside the pairing of physical movement. Animality investigates the intersections between dance and technology presented as a live performance in combination with projections and an audiovisualiser animation.
