Brief & Scope CoL commissioned GW to design & deliver a community engagement process to map community priorities and longer term aspirations. Engage local residents, visitors, key stakeholders. To develop a community vision that encapsulates the best ways the Heath can continue to enrich lives now and far into the future. The vision will help guide City of London in developing the new 10 year management plan by April 2018. Produce a summary report of findings from engagement and a Community Vision statement.

Key Findings

CoL Consultation Consultation meetings with Advisory Committee 24 staff were consulted by CoL from 4 teams: Conservation, Education, Golders Hill Park and Support Service
Questionnaire Survey 1,342 responses received: 80 % local residents; majority working age adults; 58% female; majority regular visitors. Top 3 reasons for visiting: walking (89%), peace and quiet (77%), enjoying nature (76%) Nature, trees, wildlife valued by majority (89%) In 50 years time the majority of respondents strongly agreed or agreed that the Heath should be place for enjoyment of being outdoors, relaxing/ unwinding / recharging and connecting with nature. 95% agreed that Conserving natural habitats is very important or important for future generations. Enhancing health and well being and keeping people active were also deemed to be important for future generations. 650 comments received covering all aspects of the Heath
