t V33, responsibility is part of our DNA. It strengthens our raison d’être and drives our commitment to audiences and issues that we hold dear.

In the first instance, I am thinking of our responsibility to our employees; our daily efforts to harness our family values to drive unity and wellbeing and to build a winning ethos. I am also thinking of our consumers and customers, of course, to whom we are committed What I to providing uncompromising quality.

Why? To create a link between our initiatives and give meaning to our know-how. I am convinced that by sharing our CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) strategy, we will not only be able to stay ahead of the game, but also give more value to contributions from individuals. I hope that together we can improve the quality of our products whilst limiting our environmental impact throughout our value chain. This is what I believe in. What’s more, what I am most proud of is the spirit that prevails in this company. We saw this again during the Covid-19 crisis. This episode highlighted all the qualities of the people with whom we share our daily lives. It is with this same energy and kindness that we can calmly build our future: a more agile, innovative and responsible future.

am most proud of is the spirit that prevails in this company.

And we are proud to commit to our local region: our Jura. All our strategies are designed to have a positive impact on the local economic fabric without damaging the natural wealth that surrounds us. With our stakeholders’ expectations evolving at a rapid pace and the experience of the health crisis, we have decided to go one step further by structuring our approach to responsibility.

Happy reading

The Group

2021 news highlights SHORTAGE OF RAW MATERIALS, ABUNDANCE OF CREATIVITY.

LEARNING AND GROWING FROM THE HEALTH CRISIS.

Our industry is suffering from the global shortage of raw materials, especially in terms of the manufacture of chemical mixtures. Certain substances, which are essential for the production of paints and coatings, are running out, impacting our stocks and, therefore, increasing the risk of delays in supplying our customers.

Getting through the Covid-19 crisis was a source of pride for our company. Despite having major concerns at the beginning of the crisis, our teams have proved to be very resilient. We would like to take this opportunity to thank them.

Rather than undermining our business, this enduring crisis is pushing us to challenge our formulas and ways of working. Thanks to the commitment of our teams, we are able to offer alternatives that do not compromise the intrinsic quality of our portfolio or our safety requirements. Without compromising our products’ competitiveness, the V33 Group has been able to mobilise to meet the expectations of its customers and users in a pressured environment, demonstrating further proof of the resilience of our model and providing a valuable learning opportunity.

P.10

Our group was able to keep everyone out of harm’s way, making personal safety an essential requirement of our Covid effort. Together, we managed to continue to operate as fully as possible while contributing to the collective effort, notably by supplying some local companies and institutions with hydroalcoholic gel and masks. With trust and kindness, we have joined forces to protect ourselves and move forward together.

Our policy A CSR STRATEGY THAT MATCHES OUR AMBITIONS. In 2021, we developed the V33 Group CSR policy, which aims to define how our company can limit its environmental footprint. At the same time, we are making a positive contribution to individual professional development and regional development, particularly in the heart of the Jura. At V33, we want to satisfy all of our customers over the long term, with a range of products and services tailored to their needs. We limit the impacts of our operations and provide our employees and service providers with optimal working conditions.

DEFINING OUR OBJECTIVES TO MEET OUR STAKEHOLDERS’ EXPECTATIONS. It’s a fact, ensuring quality dialogue with a range of audiences is key to the credibility of any CSR approach. That’s why we have made our stakeholders’ expectations central to our responsibility strategy. How? By conducting a materiality study. This tool allows us to clearly identify our priorities in order to better manage our CSR strategy, particularly in the context of ISO 26000. Developed collaboratively (with our ecosystem stakeholders), our matrix shows the areas that need particular attention in order to develop an action plan with the greatest impact. Our 2023 objectives are the result of this advance consultation.

In order to make our CSR strategy more effective, we have chosen to structure it at Group level and then have it implemented by all our brands. For us, embellishing the future is a key commitment that we take very seriously.

Marie de Grivel Managing Director

TAILORED GOVERNANCE. The legitimacy of our CSR strategy is based on the commitment of our employees who, on a daily basis, work to push boundaries. In order to drive this transformation, our General Management is working to develop a clear and inspiring policy framework, and with the definition of new performance indicators, V33 Group Management is committed to doing everything in its power to achieve the objectives set, in particular, through continuous monitoring and implementing corrective measures.

DESIGN MORE SUSTAINABLE PRODUCTS Work on formulas and packaging

Our products are the embodiment of who we are. Since 1957, we have been working to provide sustainable, high quality products. Today, we are bringing all our knowledge to bear on developing more virtuous life cycles, from the selection of raw materials to our choice of packaging.

P.12

Design more sustainable products

ENSURING THE QUALITY, COMPLIANCE AND TRACEABILITY OF OUR PRODUCTS. The quality of our products is at the heart of the V33 Group’s DNA. That is why we are committed to developing ever more efficient and responsible formulas that exemplify our desire to contribute to improving quality of life. Throughout our value chain, we challenge our practices to raise our standards. This means selecting our raw materials with the utmost care, developing products that meet the most stringent requirements and guaranteeing exemplary traceability in order to build trust with all our stakeholders.

2023 TARGETS 100%

MORE RESPONSIBLE FORMULATION PRACTICES, BETTER SELECTED RAW MATERIALS. Better product design means setting stricter rules for the selection of incoming raw materials. To do this, we work with our suppliers to collect all the information needed to make the most responsible choices. This work, combined with a thorough analysis of the SDS (Safety Data Sheets) allows us to limit the use of raw materials containing SVHC (substances of very high concern in terms of occupational health and/or the environment) and to meet the highest requirements. At the same time, we are committed to delisting raw materials that no longer meet our objectives.

MOVING TOWARDS MORE ETHICAL COMMUNICATION.

Our objective? To help consumers make a more conscious choice by providing them with useful, clear and reliable information.

P.13

BEYOND OUR WALLS.

INNOVATING TO PROTECT.

We take part, with other industry players, in the Fipec Working Group which is committed to ensuring the increased use of bio-based raw materials and researching the elimination of microplastics in our industry.

At V33, our engineers aim to identify alternatives to reduce VOC* and SVOC** emissions and limit the use of oil-based raw materials. Our golden rule? That these alternatives should not alter the original technical performance. Furthermore, we pay particular attention to the selection of our raw materials.

ANTICIPATING EMERGING STANDARDS. In order to guarantee a formulation that lives up to our commitments - and over the long term - regulatory monitoring also has an essential role to play. Our regulatory monitoring department ensures that we are as proactive as possible in this area. Our objective? To ensure the ongoing high-quality reformulation of products affected by regulatory changes.

DEVELOPING FORMULAS THAT ARE LESS HARMFUL TO AIR QUALITY AND MORE ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY.

As responsible and invested players, we ensure that we optimise our formulas and raw materials upstream, adapting them to the numerous regulatory changes. We take strong positions, despite constraints. Creativity and technicality continue to be at the heart of our developments.

Since the V33 Group was formed, we have ensured that innovation is at the heart of our development strategy. Our specialist Research and Development teams focus their work in our laboratory on designing formulas that are safer for our users, less harmful to air quality.

Ysabelle Saint-Jevin Research & Development Manager and Purchasing Negotiator

ECO-DESIGN IS THE NEW FOUNDATION OF OUR VALUE CHAIN. We want to limit our environmental impact across our entire value chain. To this end, we are working to make eco-design our golden rule when it comes to developing our products, anticipating future ecoscoring criteria and training our R&D teams. Our challenge is to improve our reporting on the benefits of this work, to make quality and responsibility resonate with our audiences and to drive the transformation of our industry.

MEET THE HIGHEST STANDARDS. We carry out more demanding tests than the French regulations on solvent emissions in the air. We go further than the NFEN 16000 standard by testing VOCs at 3 days versus 28 days and by testing SVOCs in addition. This commitment reflects the attention we pay to the well-being of our consumers.

AND IN THE FUTURE? Many of our products will preserve indoor air. Focus on tomorrow.

Being aware of societal challenges and consumer expectations, we have taken a progress-oriented approach in which we wish to reconcile CSR concerns without compromising our DNA: Resilience, Technicality and Performance. Our guiding principle is set for the next 5 years.

RAISING USERS’ AWARENESS TO ENCOURAGE MORE RESPONSIBLE CHOICES. Positively transforming our market also means empowering our customers and users in order to encourage more responsible consumption. Environmental labelling plays an essential role in raising awareness of eco-design issues.

REDUCE OUR ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACTS

To act on our carbon footprint and on our waste management V33 believes that environmental awareness is a fundamental element of the overall quality of our products. This is why we challenge our practices on a daily basis to reduce their environmental impact, while ensuring that we build a more responsible value chain, particularly downstream through a rigorous management of our industrial waste.

P.16

Reducing our environmental impact

REDUCING THE IMPACT OF OUR ACTIVITIES ON CLIMATE CHANGE. Today, in light of the climate challenge, we need to go further, to inspire positive transformation not only within V33, of course, but also beyond our walls. That is why we are currently implementing an ambitious environmental strategy to significantly reduce our CO2 emissions. Our actions are mainly focused on emissions relating to our production and logistics flows.

2023 TARGETS Increase the percentage of electric vehicles in our maintenance fleet from

Cut compressor electricity consumption

by 5%

50% to 75%

MOVING TOWARDS A MORE EFFICIENT INFRASTRUCTURE.

REDUCE THE IMPACT OF OUR LOGISTICS FLOWS.

In order to carry out an effective greenhouse gas emissions reduction programme, it is essential to measure emissions properly so as to set up targeted and relevant action plans. That is why we are gradually installing individual electricity meters (8 meters in 2021). This approach has already led us to replace the lighting at our storage site with LED bulbs and to look into energy efficiency certificates (CEE - Certificats d’Économies d’Énergie) with energy suppliers. At the same time, we are working on modernising our boilers and gradually insulating buildings.

In 2018, V33 joined the Fret21 programme which aims to introduce environmentally responsible transport. With this programme, we are committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 8% over three years in our logistics operations in France. We are renewing this programme this year with new commitments and strongly encourage our transport partners to join this type of industry initiative, particularly through the OBJECTIF CO2 charter.

AND TOMORROW? • Our goal is to roll

out our energy measurement system for electricity, water and gas consumption by 2023 in order to move our infrastructure towards greater energy efficiency.

• A new upstream/

downstream Bilan Carbone® [carbon footprint assessment] is planned for 2022 and 2023.

Reducing our environmental impact

P.17

SECURING OUR INDUSTRIAL WASTE MANAGEMENT AND ENSURING THAT ITS IMPACT ON THE ENVIRONMENT IS REDUCED. Due to the nature of our activities at V33, we generate industrial waste, some of which is classified as hazardous. Managing the treatment of this waste by constantly improving our systems is a key challenge for our group. We aim to ensure full traceability of hazardous waste from our production, whilst guaranteeing optimal collection. This is how we are working to build a more responsible supply chain.

GUARANTEEING THE TRACEABILITY AND TREATMENT OF HAZARDOUS WASTE. All hazardous waste, such as paint residues or contaminated water, is fully traceable and is processed by a specialist service provider. As suppliers, we are also required to declare the characteristics and risks of our products and to keep all administrative information up to date. In order to realise our ambitions in this area, we are actively involved in supporting the collection and recycling of hazardous chemical products as a shareholder and member of EcoDDS, a State-approved company.

Our goal is to limit our impact by optimising our energy consumption and reducing our waste. To this end, our Environmental Management System is supplemented by the certification (ISO 9001, 14001) of our sites and activities.

Jérôme de Grivel Director of Internal Control and Quality, Safety and Environment After use, the resulting chemical waste must be taken to a waste disposal centre.

1.

Chemicals are placed on the market by manufacturers and/or distributors.

2.

?

WHAT HAPPENS TO YOUR WASTE?

5.

Waste is either recovered for energy production (heating, electricity), recycled or disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner.

P.18

Reducing our environmental impact

3. 4.

Waste disposal centre workers then take the chemical waste and sort it safely.

It is then transported, using regulated means of transport, to industrial sites specialising in sorting and mixing waste.

APPLYING THE 3Rs TO MANAGING OUR OTHER WASTE. Our many initiatives in the area of more responsible waste management follow the same guiding principle. Optimising our use of virgin raw materials, i.e. prioritising buying in bulk (less packaging), reusing pallets where possible, and separating collections of paper, wood, metal, plastic and glass to optimise recycling and reuse.

WHAT ARE THE 3Rs? Reduce, re-use and recycle are the three fundamental ways to move towards a more circular economy which emits less CO2. Through these actions, V33 is working to promote the transition to a model that turns today’s waste into tomorrow’s resources.

We are proud to have reduced our CO2 emissions by 13%. This is the result of collaborative work with our customers and carriers. We will naturally continue our involvement with Fret21 in order to contribute to climate action.

The view of

ierre harlemagne General Manager EcoDDS

WHAT IS THE ECODDS MANDATE? EcoDDS is a company of which the V33 Group is a shareholder and member. It has 48 shareholders and operates like an EIG. We are celebrating our 10th anniversary this year. EcoDDS is a not-for-profit organisation but, through contributions, we are now obliged to ensure the end-of-life of products placed on the market. Our role is to collect chemical waste (in particular paints and containers) from waste collection centres and in-store collection points so Our role that they can be treated and recycled. HOW IS THE SUPPLY CHAIN EVOLVING?

In addition to its role as a member, V33 is an active participant in EcoDDS’ strategic decision-making. Marie de Grivel attends all Board meetings which are held every two months. This demonstrates the company’s focus on product life cycle management. This is vital, as a responsible supply chain depends on the ability of the different players in the value chain to cooperate. For example, the feedback we can give to V33, is also to especially on potential improvements support suppliers at the design stage, is received with with producing and great interest.

sharing products with an increasingly low environmental impact.

This year marks a particular step forward in our evolution. We have developed an entire programme and invested in a deconditioner that allows us to separate different paint components in order to recover the plastics and recycle them into 60L ADR (Accord for dangerous goods by roads) collection boxes. We facilitate energy recovery for liquids and direct metals to scrap dealers. Our commitment is to identify recycling solutions that create value and allow us to keep used materials out of landfill.

P.20

Reducing our environmental impact

HOW DOES THE V33 GROUP HELP TO IMPROVE THE SUPPLY CHAIN?

HOW CAN WE GO FURTHER TO INCREASE RECYCLING AND MINIMISE THE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT OF THE SUPPLY CHAIN?

We have a lot of work to do. We are constantly striving to improve our communication with professionals and private individuals in order to raise their awareness of the right way to sort waste. We are also working to develop the collection point network, particularly at industrial waste collection centres in addition to municipal ones. And finally, our role is also to support suppliers with producing and sharing products with an increasingly low environmental impact. In 10 years, we have seen a drop in the use of solvents, even for exterior paints. We are committed to supporting this eco-design movement.

GOING FURTHER As it is always possible to take these issues further, we are committed to taking a continuous improvement approach. This means studying the operational feasibility of reducing packaging and packing before sending it to our customers and prioritising recyclable and recycled materials. SUPPORTING ECO-FRIENDLY BEHAVIOUR FOR OFFICE ACTIVITIES. Obviously, our employees play a key role in the environmental performance of our operations. This is why we are committed to raising their awareness on a regular basis, through targeted communications, discussion and dialogue. Raising awareness of ecofriendly behaviour is key to this approach, as is

implementing a bio-waste collection solution. It is very important that the V33 Group makes its approach to responsibility a collective adventure, in which everyone has a role to play. WORKING TOWARDS MORE VIRTUOUS IN-STORE COMMUNICATIONS. We often choose to use point-of-sale advertising or POS, to promote our solutions and products. Historically, this channel generates a lot of waste, particularly due to its short life cycle. We are reinventing our use of POS advertising by ecodesigning our displays and prioritising the re-use of used materials.

MOVING FORWARD ACCORDING TO OUR FAMILY VALUES

Take action on working conditions, safety and ethics, and deepen our roots in the local community Our approach to responsibility only makes sense if it is shared and exemplified by our teams and partners. Our mission is to inspire a corporate culture that matches our ambitions and to give the women and men who are the embodiment of V33 the means to do their job under the best possible conditions.

P.22

Moving forward according to our family values

SETTING OUR ETHICAL STANDARDS AND SHARING THEM WITHIN OUR ECOSYSTEM. In order to build trust with our stakeholders, our ethical approach is based on principles of transparency and kindness. To implement more responsible business practices, we are committed to training our teams on these issues (anti-competition and anti-corruption rules, rules on mental abuse and gender-based violence, etc.). At the same time, we are updating our code of ethics and inviting our suppliers to adhere to it and to promote our shared values.

ALWAYS STRENGTHENING OUR SAFETY CULTURE. At V33, health and safety at work is paramount. Our Spirit of Safety programme demonstrates our ambition to continually improve our systems and management methods across our sites. To this end, a dedicated Steering Committee meets every three months to monitor the implementation of action plans and reporting. On the other hand, we strive to provide an increasingly comfortable and ergonomic working environment. This is the purpose of our partnership with CARSAT.

OUR SCOPE OF PROTECTION IS EXPANDING. Today, we are striving to extend our Spirit of Safety programme beyond production and logistics to include our laboratories, offices, sales operations and subsidiaries. Psychosocial risks are now also covered.

MAKING DIVERSITY AND EQUALITY DRIVING FORCES FOR ENGAGEMENT. The diversity of skills and profiles adds value to our group. We have taken a comprehensive approach to promoting this wealth of diversity and to placing particular emphasis on the inclusion of women, young talent, older workers and workers with disabilities. Our approach also supports an ambitious policy of supporting volunteer firefighters via our agreement with the SDIS 39 (the Jura Departmental Fire and Rescue Service). Within this context, seven V33 employees are volunteer firefighters. When necessary, they are free to take action!

ADDING VALUE TO OUR BUSINESSES AND RETAINING TALENT. It is vital for us to highlight our expertise and offer fulfilling career paths to attract and retain the best talent. This is the purpose of our Employer Brand initiative. It is reflected in our promotion of internal mobility, our enhanced training policy and the roll out of measures to improve quality of life at work.

AND TOMORROW? We are currently working on setting up an internal training platform to promote skills development across our various businesses. At the same time, we are developing a tool for monitoring annual and professional appraisals in order to better support our talents in their careers.

DEEPENING OUR ROOTS IN THE LOCAL COMMUNITY. With a presence in a number of European countries, the V33 Group nevertheless maintains its strong roots in Domblans, in the Jura. It is our main production site and home to almost 70% of our employees. Aware of our role as a local economic player, we give preference to local suppliers and service providers in order to boost the economic development of the region and manage our indirect environmental impact.

P.24

Moving forward according to our family values

LET’S HELP TO SUPPORT LOCAL DEVELOPMENT! We want to increase our employees’ presence in local institutions (Jura Chamber of Commerce - CCI, Lons-le-Saunier Business School, etc.). That’s why we encourage any voluntary initiatives that aim to boost local development as well as third-sector and professional partnerships (French Employment Agency - Pôle Emploi, Companies providing employment to support social inclusion - Entreprises d’insertion, and sheltered workshops).

Employees’ expectations change over time, and we are committed to continuously adapting our practices in Quality of Life at Work, recruitment, skills management and, through local partnerships, in economic and social areas.

Bruno Caron Director of Human Resources

ENSURING BUSINESS CONTINUITY. The V33 Group has defined procedures and action plans with its local partners (the Regional Directorate for Environment, Planning and Housing - DREAL, the Fire Department - SDIS, the prefecture, etc.) as part of its continuity plan. The aim is to guarantee maximum reactivity and business continuity in the event of a disaster at the Domblans site. Crisis management exercises are organised on an annual basis, enabling internal and emergency teams to practice and improve the quality of their operations. On the IT side, a BCP (Business Continuity Plan) has been drafted so that the company’s essential services can be restarted as soon as possible.

AGILITY IN A HEALTH CRISIS During the Covid-19 crisis, we made teleworking the norm - with a dedicated charter - to allow activities to be extended off-site. In addition, we are now working to strengthen our supply chain management to better control the risks of supplier failure or material shortages.

PROTECTING THE DATA COLLECTED BY THE COMPANY. At V33 we use information systems that are key to our industrial and commercial business. The risk of cyber security incidents has been identified as major and dedicated human, technical and financial resources have been increased. The IT teams ensure the security of IT facilities by rolling out procedures, tools and training. Within the context of implementing GDPR, particular attention is paid to personal data and to the technical and organisational measures related to their collection, storage and destruction. We also plan to hire an IT Systems Security Manager in the near future.
