Policy briefing paper

Climate change adaptation in the agricultural sector is key to achieving prosperity in Pakistan. Women small-scale farmers play a hugely significant role in food production, yet policies and investments fail to recognize their contribution, meet their needs, or unlock their enormous potential to eradicate hunger. Urgent investment is needed in women small-scale producers on the frontline of climate change impacts who are struggling to feed a nation. 72% of farmers in Pakistan are women. Every day climate change is making it harder for them to produce the food that we eat. Grow in Pakistan launched a video that not only highlighted the problems of our food growers, the rural women – but also had their demands clearly outlined in the video. It was also our foundation video for Pakistan’s first petition launch. This video reached 370,275 people and had 148,223 views, 708 likes and 235 shares on our Facebook page alone.
