INSTALLATION Refer to the Figure shown above. 1. Connect the extension tube (G) and coupler (H) onto the valve outlet (D). The connection between the extension tube and the valve outlet must be tight. Use thread sealant to ensure a leak-proof joint. 2. Make sure air supply to the air operated grease pump, with which the gun is to be installed, is cut off. Pump must be in switched off mode. 3. Attach the Pump outlet hose to the female threads of valve inlet (E). • Make sure that the hose from the grease pump has mating threads or else use an adaptor to match the two threads. • Since high pressure can cause the hose to bend or kink, it is advisable to place a Z- swivel connector between the valve inlet and the hose. Use a thread sealant (e.g Teflon) for a leak-proof joint. 4. Supply compressed air to the air motor of the grease pump. The pump starts operating when the trigger (F) of the control valve is squeezed. The pump will stop when the trigger is released.

NOTE • This is a continuous flow valve & will keep dispensing grease until the trigger is pressed. Be careful not to over lubricate. • This control valve can be used upto a maximum inlet grease pressure of 7500 PSI (517 BAR), although recommended inlet grease pressure is up to 6000 PSI (413 BAR). • The Grease Control valve delivers the same grease output pressure as is produced by the air operated grease pump.

GREASING A GREASE FITTING / GREASE NIPPLE 1. The grease coupler provided at the end of the control valve extension has a jaw type construction. The coupler jaws will snap on to a grease fitting and maintain a tight fit. 2. When connecting the coupler to the grease fitting, press the coupler straight onto the grease fitting to form a snug fit. Start operating the grease control valve with the coupler as square to the grease fitting as possible. 3. Once greasing is completed, slightly tilt the coupler, twist and pull back. The tilt and twist action will allow easy removal of the coupler from the grease fitting.

MAINTENANCE Grease Control Valves should be kept clean and checked for damage before each use. Control valve does not have any filters built in, it is therefore important that grease flowing into the valve is clean. Make sure grease pump has a filter at its inlet. If due to any reason, the valve fails to function, never open the valve. Return product to the place of purchase for replacement if within the warranty period.

TROUBLESHOOTING Problem

Possible Cause

Corrective Action

Grub Screw (A) on top of the valve has been over-tightened, resulting in constant opening of the valve

Loosen the grub screw (A) by rotating it in the anticlockwise direction. Tighten the top nut (B)

Damaged ball inside the valve body (C)

Return product to the dealer for repairs if the product is within the warranty period

Grub Screw (A) on top of the valve may have become too loose

Loosen the top nut (B) and tighten the grub screw (A) by rotating it in the clockwise direction.

Valve may be blocked due to impurities in grease

Remove the grease supply hose from valve inlet (E) and carefully clean the valve using compressed air.

Worn seal inside the valve body (C)

Return product to the dealer for repairs if within the warranty period.

Grease flows without pressing the trigger (F)

No grease flow when trigger (F) is pressed

Grease leaking from top of the valve

For Use With

Air Operated Grease Pumps

Max. Working Pressure

7500 PSI (517 BAR)

• Make sure that grease pump has a filter at its inlet so that the control valve always gets a clean supply of grease. • Never point the control valve at anyone or at any part of the body. This valve dispenses grease at very high pressures, possibly resulting in skin injection. • Never put your hand or fingers over the coupler. • Never stop or deflect leaks with your hand, body, glove or rag. • Tighten all fluid connections with thread sealant before operating the control valve. • Do not alter or modify this equipment. • When not in use, always turn off the air supply to the grease pump.
