ASSEMBLY & OPERATION ®

1.

The pump can be assembled with either the regular bung nut or the special plastic pull out spout (Rieke spout) adaptor. This assembly operation is interchangeable and at any time, you may change from one adaptor to the other depending upon the container on which the pump is to be used.

2.

At the top end of metal suction tube, the plastic pump head is fitted. The plastic pump head has a lock ring all along it’s diameter, onto which the bung adaptor is slid and fitted.

3.

Chose the appropriate bung adaptor, slide it over the suction tube and press fit the same onto the lock ring on the pump.

4.

Most containers used are of standard length, and the pump would fit into them. However, there are a few containers which are slightly longer in length. The pump length may be increased to accommodate such containers by sliding on the plastic extension at the inlet of the suction tube.

5. •

Screw on the delivery spot onto the pump head If your model features the bent steel discharge outlet, then simply press it inside the pump outlet spout. The steel spout is reserved threaded such that once fixed, it would be a permanent fit. Ensure that it is properly seated onto the head to prevent leakage. If your model features a poly vinyl hose with a curved discharge steel spout, then slide the hose end over the pump outlet spout. Ensure that the flexible spout is pushed till the end for a firm fit.

• 6. • •

When using a regular bung nut with the pump equipped with a flexible discharge hose, you may use the drain back feature on the pump which prevents oil spills and accidents. To use this feature, pierce open the drain back nozzle in the pump head using a pin. Adjust the regular bung nut, such that the slit window in the bung nut comes under the drain back nozzle.

7.

Screw on the pump assembly onto the Oil container. Both the bung nuts have internal threads, which easily thread onto the external threading on the containers.

8.

Prime the pump, by operating the pump handle several times. It takes about 3 - 6 strokes to prime the pump, which depends upon the media being used.
