How did you develop a passion for acting?
As a child I enjoyed watching movies and picturing myself on the screen. This passion of mine began taking shape when I first enrolled in drama school in Florence during elementary school.
You also trained at New York’s Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute. What kind of experience was that for you?
My original plan was to stay for one term only, but as soon as I arrived I realized that it was the right path for me to take and that I would have remained in New York to complete the twoyear program and learn from great teachers.
Your family has a very deep bond with Florence. What did you miss the most about your hometown when you were away?
Staying away made me love this city even more. I missed the quality of life, the people, the greenness, walking through the streets amidst so much art and history.
Do you warm more to the screen or the stage?
Working on the character and story is much the same. They are, however, two different emotional and sensory experiences and I love them both very much.
Your best professional experience so far?
Last summer I was cast for my first role in an Italian film, which is coming soon to movie theaters. I had a great time with everyone working on the set and I learned a lot!
Your secret dream?
Living in Florence but travelling the world for my job, working with Italian and international productions, acting in multiple languages.
A few of your favorite places in Florence?
The Abbey of San Miniato al Monte, Viale dei colli and the Rampe, the Assi Giglio Rosso center, where I grew up training, Cammillo, Caffè dell’Oro, Atelier de’ Nerli and Caffè Cibreo.
Come nasce la tua passione per la recitazione?
Fin da bambina guardavo tanti film e mi divertivo a immaginarmi dall’altra parte dello schermo. Questa mia passione ha poi iniziato a prendere forma quando mi sono iscritta alla mia prima scuola di teatro a Firenze durante le elementari.
Nella tua formazione c’è il Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute di New York. Che esperienza è stata?
Ero andata per fare soltanto un trimestre, ma appena arrivata ho capito che quella era la strada giusta e che sarei rimasta a New York per tutto il programma di due anni. Questo mi ha dato l’opportunità di imparare da grandissimi maestri.
La tua famiglia è legata a doppio filo con Firenze. Cosa ti è mancato di più della tua città durante quegli anni?
Stare lontana mi ha fatto amare questa città ancora di più. Mi è mancata la qualità della vita, delle persone, il verde, poter camminare ogni giorno in mezzo a così tanta arte e storia.
Ti appassiona di più il set o il palcoscenico?
Il lavoro sul personaggio e la storia è simile, sono però esperienze sensoriali ed emotive diverse e amo moltissimo entrambe.
L’esperienza professionale più bella finora?
L’estate scorsa ho avuto la mia prima parte in un film italiano, che uscirà a breve nelle sale. Mi sono trovata molto bene con tutte le persone coinvolte e ho imparato tantissimo!
Il sogno nel cassetto?
Vivere a Firenze ma girare il mondo con il mio lavoro, in produzioni italiane e internazionali, recitando in lingue diverse.
Firenze in una manciata di tuoi indirizzi del cuore?
L’Abbazia di San Miniato al Monte, il viale dei colli e le rampe, il centro sportivo Assi Giglio Rosso, dove sono cresciuta allenandomi, Cammillo, il Caffè dell’Oro, l’Atelier de’ Nerli e il Caffè Cibreo.
