FUOR D’ACQUA A stone’s throw from Porta San Frediano, a restored former carriage house is home to Fuor d’acqua, a seafood landmark in Florence. Dishes are determined by the day’s catch, but there are always classics like Catalana and raw or cooked antipasti (Via Pisana, 37r).

FLAVOURS OF THE SEA

BORGO SAN JACOPO Located near Ponte Vecchio, the atmosphere at Borgo San Jacopo is as delightful as the food by executive chef Claudio Mengoni. Traditional Florentine and Italian gourmet cuisine with a light, contemporary approach, and fish meticulously selected and prepared (Borgo San Jacopo, 62r).

CESTELLO RISTOCLUB

An homage to mediterranean food culture. Entering the Cestello Ristoclub you’ll find a lounge area for cool aperitifs and a tank where you can choose your fish, which the skilled hands of the chefs will turn into delicious dishes (Piazza di Cestello, 8).

MARINA DI SANTOSPIRITO

GIACOMO AL SALVIATINO Giacomo Milano returns to Tuscany with Giacomo al Salviatino, one of the restaurant options at Hotel Il Salviatino. The menu is a blend of simplicity and sophistication, with unmissable fish dishes such as the Gran Misto of raw seafood and the fillet of brill cooked Catalan-style with seaweed and tomatoes (Via del Salviatino, 21 - Fiesole). In Oltrarno, what was once a carpenter’s workshop is now Marina di Santo Spirito, a refined family-run place where chef Marina delivers the freshest dishes based on the day’s catch. And as if that weren’t enough, in the evenings she takes to the stage and sings with her guests (Via Maffia, 1/C).

Among the streets that lead to Piazza del Carmine in San Frediano we find Burro & Acciughe, where traditional flavours fuse with an exotic spirit that makes all the difference.
