Every year, Dubai becomes the world capital of sailing during the Dubai International Boat Show (DIBS), which has been, for nearly thirty years, the most prestigious luxury boat show and one of the largest and most highly attended leisure time, seaside and lifestyle events of the Middle East and Asia; not to mention its strategic role in the promotion of yachting across the Emirates where the number of today, there is a very high concentration of owners of the world’s largest yachts.
The show is also a great chance for diving lovers. The Dive MENA Expo includes a series of conferences and practical sessions for scuba diving fans, and the water sports arena is the perfect place for having a go at activities such as kayak in the Dubai Fishing Competition, which takes place at the same time as the boat show.
DIBS is synonymous with luxury, from sea-inspired art to luxury watches, on show at the many premium shops. Every day, the boat show’s program includes a number of different social and lifestyle events, such as DJ Sets, evening parties and relaxing pop-up events. The boat show is divided into different areas, including Marina Display, that is, the exhibition area where world-leading and local shipbuilders and brands introduce their luxury yachts and boats and within which is found the Superyacht Avenue; Outdoor Zone is the entire outdoor area which gathers the manufacturers boats) and the navies; Equipment, Supplies and Services (ESS) is the area that gathers the exhibitors specialising in a wide range of equipment, accessories, products and exclusive selection of yachts, this year, the DIBS houses also a gallery of ocean-inspired works of art and an exhibition called Proudly UAE, which celebrates all things concerning the UAE, such as local companies and innovations. This year, gourmands will be delighted by the exciting addition of the exclusive Nikki Beach entertainment destination, which brings its famous culinary pop-up event from the Cannes International Film Festival and the Italian Porto Cervo town to Dubai’s picturesque seaside neighborhood. A unique and delicious experience for foodies with F&B offerings that suit all palates, from high-end to casual contemporary restaurants and food trucks for family fun, including sustainable and meatless options. Known for its live DJ and musician performances, its bubbly atmosphere and Mediterranean menu, the Nikki Beach’s DIBS offers a number of interactive culinary experiences, based on the area’s freshest ingredients and an uninterrupted and energising day-to-night transition.
