Inkwell Stamps news Just a reminder that we will be attending the following crafting shows: Sincerely Yours 14 June 2015

Happy Stampers (pre booked tickets only) 3 October 2015 Port Sunlight More details are on our website: www.inkwellstamps.co.uk

Our favourite non-stamp items We have recently released 4 sets of sentiments stamps and have made up sample cards with them. We have been using embossing folders to give texture to the cardstock and the Darice Nature set of 3 embossing folders have proved very popular.

Our favourite techniques We have really enjoyed colouring in our Pebbles ranges giving the effect of light to dark. Our main article is on our new range showing the technique.

We need your help If you have any comments regarding our e-magazines, or have any sample cards using our stamps as the main feature, and would like to share your creations with us then please get in touch. Your feedback is important as we use this where possible to make sure that you can have the stamps that you want. Page | 2

Pebbles Compilation sets These new stamps that have been designed to work together are perfect for so many occaissions, and very simple to do Pebbles Allsorts

Pebbles Occasions

Pebbles Oceans

We launched our new range ‘Pebbles’ at Happy Stampers in May 2015. The stamps have been designed so that you can mix and match them across the 3 sets to giving endless variations. Our sample cards show that the designs work well if simply glittered up, or using a shading technique to really bring out the effect of a pebble.

Pebbles Compilation sets Because our stamps are made of polymer it is easy to position them to build up your picture: 1. Select your stamps - I have chosen 3 from the Pebbles Allsorts set:

2. I used a dark brown ink to stamp the images – starting with the rocks, then adding the people and finally the sentiment:

3. I then used a light brown promarker pen to lightly colour in all of the stones and people, and then went over the right hand side again to make the colour stronger – blending towards the centre. If necessary repeat the additional colouring to get the effect wanted:

Pebbles Compilation sets Stacked cake – I think that as you get older your cakes should get bigger! 1. For this card you need the 2 cake sections from the Pebbles Occasions set 2. Either simply stamp the cake base and the candles section, or starting at the bottom of your cardstock, stamp the cake section repeatedly until the cake is almost the height that you want - don’t forget, you have to leave space to put the candles on:

3. Add the candles and colour the icing or the cake to finish:

4. And don’t forget to add some glitter! Page | 5

Pebbles Compilation sets Pebbles Oceans This set really lends itself to making pictures as well as cards. 1. I used 8 stamps from the Oceans set to create the picture:

2. Using black ink to create the scene, I then coloured in the images with a blue promarker pen, giving the depth by colouring heavier on the right hand side:

3. Finish off with some glitter around the rocks and the boat to give the effect of sea spray.

And don’t forget, the rocks can be rotated to give additional combinations:

Lost for words? We have 4 new Sentiments sets. Each set has a mixture of sentiments from birthday greetings to something that would be just right for a condolence card. Many of the sentiments can used as part of your main card design, or are just perfect for the inside. Sentiments 1:

Sentiments 2:

Sentiments 4:

In the above samples, the sentiments formed the main part of the cards. The card bases were either complimentary background papers or embossing folders to create the textured backgrounds. Even though there are a lot of new techniques and equipment available nowadays, a much loved old punch was used yet again to make the butterfly embellishments! Page | 9

Make this card – Anyone for tennis? We all know how difficult it is making cards for men so this set has been designed with men and/or tennis enthusiasts in mind. Use it to create background papers and main features for your cards. Tools and materials needed: Inkwell Stamps Tennis compilation White card blank 15cm x 15 cm White card 13.5cm x 13.5cm White card 10cm x 6 cm Grass green card 14.2cm x 14.2 cm Grass green card 14cm x 10cm Black card 15cm x 10cm Black and white inkpad Coloured pens/pencils Foam pads Double sided sticking tape Letter die cuts to create ‘DAD’

1. Stamp the tennis racquet and balls in black ink on the white card and then stamp the tennis court in white ink on the centre of the smaller piece of green card

2. Leave both pieces to completely dry Page | 10

Make this card – Anyone for tennis? 3. Using black ink carefully stamp the net on top of the tennis court and then stamp the ‘boing’ image over the net. Trim around image 4. Colour in the tennis balls and racquet handles

5. Stamp the 2 phrases as shown on the smallest piece of white card. There should be enough space on this piece of card to stamp a large tennis ball – when dry colour this in yellow 6. Assemble the card as follows: Attach the tennis racquet and balls background to the 14.2cm x 14.2cm green card using double sided tape Attach this to the base card, again using double sided tape

Make this card – Anyone for tennis 7. Attach the tennis court image to the black card using double sided tape, and trim to give a black edge.

Add foam pads to the back and position this over the tennis balls, towards the bottom of the page. Add the extra tennis ball using double sided tape

8. Trim the phrases to make a small label and attach to the remaining black card and trim to give a black edge. Attach this to the card using double sided tape, on the right hand side, above the tennis court 9. Attach the die cuts and position the letters DAD to the first 3 tennis racquets. I used an Xcut die set to cut out each letter 3 times, twice using white off cuts, and once using gold card. I then stuck the layers together with the gold letter on the top. Perfect for Fathers’ Day. Page | 12
