What makes our camp culture so different?

Our camp culture is built on community, connection, and a shared commitment to making the world a better place. We’re not just a place to learn new skills—we’re a team where every camper has a voice, a role, and the opportunity to make a difference. From the moment campers arrive, they become part of something bigger—an inclusive space focused on personal growth, respect, and fun. Whether through group activities, meaningful traditions, or the daily challenges of camp life, we foster purpose, self-reliance, and a deep respect for others.

We pride ourselves on creating a space where both campers and staff can be their authentic selves, try new things, and push their boundaries. Whether you’re leading activities, working on badges with your Girl Scout team, or embracing the great outdoors, every moment is an opportunity to inspire, challenge, and grow together.

At our camp, it’s not just about having fun—it’s about growing stronger, together. We live out the Girl Scout Promise and Law in everything we do, building resilience, forging lifelong friendships, and creating impactful memories that will stay with you long after the summer ends. Simply put, we’re all about sparking joy, cultivating growth, and creating camp magic every single day.

Camper Stories

My daughter found camp a bit intimidating to begin withshe loved the activities but the social aspect wasn’t easy for her. The kayaking and standup paddleboarding brought her back to camp, and she started to find her place & make lasting friendships. This past summer she went through the CIT program and now has aspirations to become a Camp Aide. Camp Inawendiwin has had a huge impact on her life - taking my shy girl and making her a young woman of courage and confidence.

-Keri F.

Camp Inawendiwin helped my daughter Emily M. reach her full potential. Her camp experience encouraged her not to be afraid to try new things. After one week of camp she couldn’t wait to go back the next week and see what new adventures were waiting for her. She truly enjoyed the camp experience and her confidence grew each week as camp progressed.

-Julie M.

Sacajawea / Kettle Run

As a parent, I can’t say enough about the positive impact Camp Sacajawea had on my daughter last summer. She came home filled with stories and couldn’t stop talking about all the amazing experiences she had. She made incredible friends that she still keeps in touch with, and the confidence and leadership skills she gained have been remarkable. The staff were fantastic—they created such a welcoming environment where Amelia felt completely comfortable and could be her authentic self. Camp Sacajawea truly brought out the best in her!

-Alicia T.

Our troop had an unforgettable experience at Camp Kettle Run! The staff were incredible with the kids— engaging and full of energy. The variety of activities was amazing: boating, ziplining, swimming, archery, rock wall climbing, hiking, visiting the HerStory Center, and even a Big Foot scavenger hunt! The campers had a blast with everything, but the zip line was definitely the favorite. We can’t wait to go back!

-Lenora M.

Oak Spring

Coming out of covid Alice was severely lacking in confidence and was easily intimidated by anything new. We first went to Camp Oak Spring as part of a Service Unit day back in 2021 where Alice was encouraged to rock climb, zipline, and canoe. It was a rough day to say the least with some crying at ziplining. We persevered though and came back for a camp preview day and she was still hesitant but was willing to try camp. Skip ahead to 2024 where she participated in 3 weeks but would have spent the whole summer there if she could! She now coaches younger scouts on camping skills, leads our troop around on Camporee weekends, and has made it to the top of the rock wall. She went from struggling to swim to fully independent swimmer, and is a thrill seeker both inside and outside of Girl Scouts including rollercoasters and water sports. Every time she comes home from Camp Oak Spring she carries herself with an increased level of confidence and a spirit of Girl Scout sisterhood that I know will take her far in life. And now only smiles at ziplining! We love Camp Oak Spring and all it has done for Alice!

As the parent of an only child, it’s been wonderful watching our daughter blossom through her summers at Girl Scout Camp. Each year, she returns from camp a little more confident, a little braver, and with a whole new circle of friends who share her excitement and enthusiasm. One of the things we love most is how all the camp staff know her by name, making her feel truly seen and valued. She’s learned so much—like how to swim and how to take care of herself and others. Earning a first aid badge was a proud moment for her, and now she’s the first to offer a helping hand when someone gets a bump or bruise. Camp Oak Spring has become a place where she can explore who she is and feel completely free to be herself. The friendships, the support, and the adventures each summer have all been huge in helping her grow into the caring, capable young person she’s becoming. We’re so grateful for the magic of Camp Oak Spring and can’t wait to see where it takes her next! This past October Samantha was a Jr. Miss Polonia in the Pulaski Day Parade on 5th Ave in New York City. This was such an honor for Samantha to share her Polish heritage. Mrs. Keisha, Troop Leader, marched in the parade with Samantha too!

-June N.

Oak Spring

This was the second year my daughter attended Girl Scout camp and it did not disappoint! She truly felt she was a part of the community and easily made friends. Camp Oak Spring has helped instill confidence, positivity and courage. The memories of singing, creating and acting out skits, closing campfires, singing all day, daily swim – will stay with her as she looks back on the fond times had. Most importantly the life skills she learned will guide her in future endeavors. Not an original fan of nature but that changed quickly as she now enjoys hiking, climbing, kayaking and… sleeping in the woods! The staff was amazing and truly bonded with all the campers. It was amazing to watch them interact and embrace the sisterhood.

-Nilay D.

Anya loves camp! She has always liked being outside near water, but this year at camp we saw her make great strides in her swimming skills, and got her over her fear of bugs and dirt. She loved the walks and hikes, and appreciates it more when we take family walks now! She made great friends and can’t wait to go back in 2025!

-Allison F.

Riley has been such a big fan of Camp Oak Spring since day one, but the changes we have noticed in her are a greater sense of independence and confidence to try new things. She has participated in all of the overnights, learned how to be responsible without a parent and has made so many new friends at camp, while having a blast! The positive energy, friendly staff and the commitment to instilling great values to all campers is what sets Camp Oak Spring apart. We will forever be grateful to have found such an amazing place! We always hear “how many more days until camp”! Great job to all!

My girls love Camp Oak Spring because it has given them so much confidence to try new things that they wouldn’t normally be exposed to. I love that they make new friends out in nature.

Back again this summer: Tiered Pricing!

To accommodate all of our families, there are three pricing levels. Choose the tier that is most suitable for your family. Each household makes this decision, and no additional financial documents are required. We want to make sure every camper has the opportunity to explore the outdoors! Price selection is completely confidential, and in no way affects the quality of the camp experience. When you register, you will be prompted to enter a coupon code if you would like to opt for Tier1 or Tier2. During registration, all prices listed are the Tier3 price.

How to navigate tiered pricing in this brochure

Tier One (Tier1)Subsidized Rate

Our partially subsidized cost for families looking to save a little. While this option does not cover the cost of camp entirely, it does help us pay for program supplies, staffing, food, and maintenance. GSCSNJ subsidizes the remainder of the cost through other revenue sources, donations, and grants.

Administrative Fee

Tier Two (Tier2)Standard Rate

The standard fee that we are asking as many members as possible to pay. This option is the closest to the actual cost of camp that helps to pay for program supplies, staffing, food, and maintenance.

We are grateful for your continued trust in us to provide an exceptional camp experience for your child! To maintain the high quality and sustainability of our camp programs, we are introducing a one-time 2.75% Credit Card or a 1.5% ACH Administrative Fee.

This fee helps cover rising costs associated with credit card processing and administrative expenses. The fee will be applied per camper registration and included in the total payment, ensuring transparency with a clear payment breakdown, including the convenience fee.

Tier Three (Tier3)Longevity Rate

This fee is inclusive of the standard fee, but is for families that are able to contribute a little extra to ensure the longevity of our Summer Camp program. Every purchase made at the Tier3 price point is allowing us to focus our resources on the future of our camps.

Discounts

Since we know that every little bit counts, we are adding different discounts for our camp families to take advantage of this season. Families can apply as many discounts as they qualify for. Please reach out to Customer Care if you have any questions.

Campers will face new challenges, build critical social skills like teamwork, communication, and empathy, and form lasting friendships in a supportive, inclusive environment. They’ll also foster a deeper connection with nature and embrace diversity, all while strengthening their sense of community and belonging. These experiences help shape well-rounded, adaptable, and compassionate individuals.

Older Camper Leadership Programs

The Counselor-in-Training (CIT) Programs prepare campers entering grades 9-12 to become effective leaders by teaching them the qualities and responsibilities needed to be a Camp Aide. Under the guidance of Leadership Staff, CITs gain experience through shadowing staff members, taking certification courses, and learning new skills that will prepare them to lead both at camp and in their communities. Both CIT programs are pass/fail, and no refunds will be provided if the camper does not pass the course.

CIT I

The Counselor-in-Training (CIT) Program helps Senior and Ambassador Girl Scouts develop leadership skills and prepare them to become Camp Aides.

During the first half of the two week program, CITs participate in activities and workshops to build their leadership abilities. In the second half, they apply what they’ve learned by shadowing staff and Camp Aides. Each day, CITs review feedback and reflect on their growth. Participants who complete the program will earn their CIT pin. Oak Spring Day Camp
